1 New Member
First.. i'm sorry 4 my english....

I have installed a network in a building.
There is 8 computer, 4 in the first floor and 4 in the 4th floor.
In the first floor, there is 1 computer that use as a gateway and internet server. and all is use win xp as OS.
In the fourth floor, there is 1 computer as intranet server with win2k based and asp based for the intranet. and the other (client pc) use win 98 as OS.
All ping is okey and all computer is connected one to another....
Printing job from office can work well. ( The printer is located in the first floor.
The problem is if they use the intranet web and want to print, there is a box display that we have to fill username and password to access the intranet server (in the 4th floor). I try to print from the client in the 4th floor and it works!!!
So i back to the first floor and try again to print, i try to fill all username and password that maybe work but its still can't print, and the same box is appeared.

Can anyone help why i can't print and have to fill username and password??

Hello all, I am getting into trouble in what I think is a rather common scenario: In a client-server application, the client is deployed on a network share on the same computer on which the server software is running. When I start the client application on a client computer from the network share it is code that comes from the local intranet. According to all the documentation I have read, such code has permission to "connect back to...

In my application I need to give the user the ability to print duplex if the selected printer supports duplex printing. Many of the printer options do not make much sense in my application, and many of the settings in the common printer dialog would have a negative impact on my printing process. To handle this strict printing constraint on which my application imposes I do not want to show the common print dialog. I want to be able to...

Hello, I am having a little trouble accessing a list of printers on our Network through a web service... I am using the PrinterSettings.InstalledPrinters to access a list of printers installed on the local machine which works fine when using a test windows application on the server and calling the function directly. However if the test application first calls a Web Service which then calls the function to retrieve a list of prints I...

Hi! How can I access files on intranet. I have mapped a serverfolder to the drive letter G and try to access a file from ASP.NET, but File.Exists("G:\filename.ext") returns false. The same code in Windows Forms returns true, so I guess it has something to do with the permissions. I set all rights to the IUSR_machinename. This is enough to make it work locally on C: but not on G:

Is there any security reason why you cannot print to a network printer from ASP.NET under IIS6 on Windows 2003 server? I'm using ASP.NET code to print to a server print queue using PrintDocument.Print() (.NET framework v 1.1) I can print to a local printer plugged into LPT1 on the web server, but not to a network printer. The same printing code to a network printer works in a .NET web app when

Ola all: I had a call from a client yesterday. She reports that when attempting to connect to a AC2002 mdb backend on a remotely shared pc (mapped locally as \\Server\Users) she suddenly began receiving the error described in KB810582. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/810582/EL/ 'Microsoft Access cannot open this file.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
