1 New Member
Hey tech gods, need a little help. I've just bought a vista desktop pc and want to wirelessly add to existing aol internet connection.

I ran the G belkin adaptor software, ran the wireless setup wizard onto a flash drive put it all together as instructed. When it came to connect to the main network name, it comes up as an option I press connect and it says 'for unknown reason could not connect.

Please help any advise would be a great help, please bear in mind i'm not very techy!

I’m unable to access my new laptop Vista files on a LAN from my XP desktop. The message is access denied you might not have permissions to use the network resource. Vista file permissions are set to Everyone with Full Control. The Vista firewall is disabled and the only virus program is AVG checking for viruses only. I can access the Vista Public files OK from the desktop. Both PCs are operating on the LAN and Internet OK. The desktop can...

I posted this question earlier and it seemed to explode and disappear, so I am trying again. I apologize if it ended up as a duplicate.. I set up a home network by adding a Vista Laptop to a XPHome SP2 Desktop via a D-Link Router. The XP Desktop is connected via an ethernet cable and the Vista machine is wireless. In the early days of setting it up I got access to the internet on both machines, could share files on the XP from the Vista....

I have recently come across a problem in Vista when trying to add it to a network. This is the first time I have had this problem and I haven't found anything relevant on google. I'll try my best to explain the problem: I work for the IT department for all the local schools in my area. 9 schools are connected via one network. We use linux Samba servers and as an extra precaution we don't allow it's name to be visible. On XP it automaticly...

Hi, I'm having a network problem I'm hoping I can resolve (and a few questions.) Currently I have a desktop with XP Pro on it. I just purchased a laptop with Vista, and wanted to network it with the desktop. For some reason, the desktop can locate and access the laptop, but the laptop cannot locate or even see the desktop. They're both in the same work group and network, and all the sharing permissions are turned on, as far as I can tell. ...

I have a home network running wired and wireless via a D-Link DSL Modem/Router. For some time, I've been trying to overcome the problem of not being able to get any of the XP Home (SP3) machines to access my Vista HPx32 (SP1) laptop through the wire. (Though vice versa works.) I can push and pull stuff when the Vista laptop is doing the 'driving'. The XP machines all see the laptop - but when I try to push/pull any files to/from the shared...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
