I currently have a XP network and I just purchased a laptop running vista
premium and after trying to network my new laptop to my existing network all
I get is access denied and to contact my admin. I did install the LLTD patch
on my XP machines and all of my pc's have the same identical account with
identical passwords and all are on the same workgroup.I did turn off all
firewalls and I don't have any 3rd party firewalls. I also turned...

Hello All,
I have a major application for quoting and invoicing that is written in
Access 97 (both front and back ends). I have a user base of over 300
customers, and currently I don't require that they have Access 97, as I use
the access 97 runtime scripts from Sagekey software. The main problems I've
seen with Access 97 are the built in e-mail support for sending reports.
Unless a user uses the MS Outlook 2000/XP method, they have to...

Can anyone help me? I need to use picture it 2000 every day and use to use
it on Windows XP and had NO problems at all. If I would open up windows
explorer i could be in my folder that has all of my picture it files in
there, .mix files and even though they were not jpegs etc.. windows explorer
would show the thumbnail of all of these projects saved so i could quickly
look for something and double click to open. Since installing...

I'm currently looking at the access developer extensions for creating an MSI
installer package for a 2007 runtime app. Couple of observations and
questions.
1) Doesn't look like we have the ability to set a packaged file to always
overwrite, or never overwrite, unless I'm missing something. This could be a
sticking point, as I would always want the program to overwrite on
re-installing, but NEVER the back end database. I have a few more...

I am upgrading a long-standing Access application from 97, Xp and a 1280x1024 screen to 2000 ( and eventually 2007), Vista Business and 1280x800. The application has been in frequent use for many years and has several thousand lines of code 'behind' the various forms so that the users do not actually know they are using Access.
At various times I use Sendkeys "+{Enter}", True to force an update of the underlying data tables.
Attempting...

From http://www.regdeveloper.co.uk/2008/01/14/office_mac_08_vba/
"VBA will disappear completely when Office 2007 for Windows is replaced,
sometime around 2009.
Microsoft announced last July it would no longer license VBA and said future
application development should use Visual Studio Tools for Applications
(VSTA) or Visual Studio Tools for Office (VSTO)."
If you plan to be developing in the future, even in Office, it may be wise

Hi all,
So I bought a new laptop 10 days ago to test my apps with Vista. (home premium)
Apparently Office 2007 is pre-installed. (a time limited but complete test version, no SP1)
So I take the opportunity to test some new features of Access2007 before actually 'stepping over'.
First thing that troubles me of course is 'the ribbon', but my question now is about speed.
I opened one of my Access 2000-apps in Access 2007.
Speed and...

We've got a VB2005 program written some time back that we're trying to
do some maintenance on still from within VB2005 but now running on a
Vista Business PC (which I think may be relevant to the problem).
When we go to start up the project from within the VS environment
there are several build errors relating to an inability to find the
ADOX library. I can't remember without hours of reorientation and
checking back whether this was a...

I have a home network running wired and wireless via a D-Link DSL Modem/Router. For some time, I've been trying to overcome the problem of not being able to get any of the XP Home (SP3) machines to access my Vista HPx32 (SP1) laptop through the wire. (Though vice versa works.)
I can push and pull stuff when the Vista laptop is doing the 'driving'. The XP machines all see the laptop - but when I try to push/pull any files to/from the shared...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
