PLEASE HELP !! Picture It 2000 and Windows Vista and windows expl

Can anyone help me? I need to use picture it 2000 every day and use to use
it on Windows XP and had NO problems at all. If I would open up windows
explorer i could be in my folder that has all of my picture it files in
there, .mix files and even though they were not jpegs etc.. windows explorer
would show the thumbnail of all of these projects saved so i could quickly
look for something and double click to open. Since installing Windows
Vista, the Picture It 2000 still works great , except now upon opening up
windows explorer, i can see thumbnails of any format BUT the picture it
files! I do not understand why an older version of windows could handle
viewing these as thumbnails but the newer vista can not. It is quite
inconvenient now to have to actually open the picture it program and go
through there to search for files when i use to be able to just see
everything I had in one page in windows explorer with the thumbnails. I
really like the look of Vista and after paying for it would hate to have to
take it out and put XP back on again just because of this. I've searched all
folder and settings etc and can find nothing to help.

I can't help you, but at least you have it downloaded on your pc. I've been
trying for a week to install picture it 2000 on mine and it stops half way
through and hangs there. I loved that program and it worked great on XP, but
I can't install it on Vista. Good luck.

I have xp and vista on my computer as a dual boot system. I thought for sure
I was going to have to revert back to using XP because of not being able to
use picture it at all at first. It kept shutting down after trying to open..
files not being recognized by the program. But after sifting through vista
looking for anything to change I cant quite remember all i did but one of
them definitely was turning off windows defender. I can now use the program,
but if the .mix files are associated with the program, still do not
understand why windows explorer in XP can allow us to see the .mix files like
any thumbnail as if it were a jpeg, but yet will not allow you to in Vista..
takes me twice as long to locate things now without being able to just
quickly skim in explorer.

Hi all, So I bought a new laptop 10 days ago to test my apps with Vista. (home premium) Apparently Office 2007 is pre-installed. (a time limited but complete test version, no SP1) So I take the opportunity to test some new features of Access2007 before actually 'stepping over'. First thing that troubles me of course is 'the ribbon', but my question now is about speed. I opened one of my Access 2000-apps in Access 2007. Speed and...

so I've been using Microsoft Picture It! 2000 on my Vista machine since last May, then suddenly about a month ago it would no longer show the option for saving my created files in .jpg. There was a new file called JPG Filter, but when saving files that way, they never show up. There are others (GIF and BMP) on the program that I can use, but I'd really like to keep all my files the same. Can anyone help me? Thanks so much! markaaro...

A windows service I've created runs on all boxes except Windows 2000 server. The windows service initializes (i.e., the Service:ServieBase class gets constructed), but the OnStart() method never fires. On the same server, I have another service I've created which runs just fine. Both services were installed using the Windows Installer, exactly the same deal... both services run on other machines too.

When i first got Vista Home Premium, my welcome screen pic (the tabby cat) was HUGE, about 2 inches by 2 inches. Then one day, (i hadn't changed anything) it got little, like 3/4 inches by 1/2 inch. I looked everywhere in User accounts but it only lets u change the pic, not the size of the icon. Anyone know whats up w/ that? t/y!

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/158238 lists the OS's for Windows ME through Windows 95. it comes from the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion and you don't bother with the appended A's and B's because that is in a different entry. Microsoft doesn't have such a list for newer OS's, unfortunately. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
