Has anyone had any luck accessing an Oracle database from a web service? I have a C# DLL with various code to query an Oracle database. If I call the methods in this DLL from a Windows Forms application everything works just fine. However, if I call the methods in this DLL from a web service, I receive the following error when the database connection is opened: Error: ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve service name Does anyone know...

I am using VB DotNet Std Edition and am writing a web application that needs to read and write to an password protected database. The mdb files reside in a folder (fpdb) under the localhost (c:\inetpub\wwroot) Within the IDE I can view the data using the server explorer and I use that same oledb connection for the web form. I have tried accessing a non-password protected db in the same folder using

When a field gets added, a link that opens a popup window is next to it. The popup is opened and has the name of the parent element it should change in it. The user can use the popup to get a list of results. In the results I would like them...

Hi, I'm not sure if this is possible, but I'm looking for a way to access another IE browser window using JavaScript (assuming the two browser windows are running in the same instance). The purpose of this task is so that if a user hits ctrl+n in IE, the new window is "aware" of the other instance. Thanks in advance,

Hi, I'm having problem accessing javascript-created elements from opened window. This occurs only when I'm including another files in opened window, javascript or css. When I comment out "<link>" and "<script>" (point (0)), the script works fine. The opening window itself (point (1)) can access the object. When page has been loaded, then I can access the object also (point (3)). The script does find included files (debug_test2.css and...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
