I would like to be able to customize the path structure that VS.NET
2003 creates for projects.
1. I'd like to be able to create a project without VS.NET creating a
folder for that project. I've already created a folder where I want
the project to go, however, VS.NET won't use the existing folder, it
wants to create it's own.
2. I also want to be able to specify my own paths for source, builds,
etc.

Does anybody know of a single source of information (book, article etc) on
setup/deployment projects? I've got the old Wrox Deployment one, but I'm
tired of never finding what I'm looking for.

I HAVE done this before, but can't figure this out. It's not critical, just
an annoyance.
Added RTF files to a standard deployment project, then "Read Me" and
"License Agreement" dialogs and set their file properties.... but
I get blank dialogs during install!!!
Any ideas?

Hi All,
I'm putting together my first web deployment project using VS2003 and have
a few questions someone might be able to help on.
First, I need to modify the web.config file based on entries made during
the installation from one of the TextBoxes dialogs. Is this possible? If
so, can someone point me in the direction of some doc or samples for this?
Second, is it possible to return errors from a custom action back to the
installer...

I have created a Setup and Deployment project in Visual Studio.NET 2003.
After my installation has completed running I'd like to launch the EXE that I
just
installed. I've found how to launch the EXE in the Custom Actions area of
the Setup and Deployment project. Unfortunately when the EXE is launched
it causes the setup program to stay open until the EXE has been exited.
Anyone have any ideas how to launch the EXE and get the setup...

Hello, I 'm not sure if this is the correct forum to post this question in
but, I using MS' suggested method of using their setup.exe and settings.ini
to deploy dotnetfx.exe with my deployment package. My question is, there are
settings in the Config.ini file that I'd like to know how to change but
can't find any info on. For instance, I would like to change the following
line:
IDS_SETUP_SUCCEEDED=Setup succeeded.
to keep the setup...

Hi All,
How to customize .Net deployment projects User Interface dialogs? In
other word, lets say, if I want to disable "Disk Cost" button on the
"Select Installation Folder" dialog of my .Net setup, how can I do
that?
Thanks,
Sam

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
