Disable Auto Event Creation on Double-Click (VS2005)

When you double-click on a control in the designer window, it creates
the 'default' event for that control. Is there any way to disable
this functionality?

Do you mean to do this for a control you are writing or in general to
disable the design time feature?

Why don't you right-click somewhere on the form and use View Code, if all
you're wanting to do is view/work the code after you place a control on the
form, instead of double-clicking the control, which creates the event and
shows you code?

Hi. This post follows "does python have useless destructors". I'm not an expert, so I hope what I will write is meaningfull and clear. Actually in Python there is no possibility to write code that follows C++ RAII pattern. Of course Python objects are not statics like in C++, but in C++ the auto_ptr class is used for enforcing this pattern for dynamical

If an item is added in a grid, then the grid scrolls automatically either to bring the selected or the last entered item in focus. Is there a way to disable this scrolling. Means, If I am looking at item number 500 and the item number 100 is selected and an item is added at the top. Then grid doesnt scroll anywhere and item number 500 keeps in view. Is it possible ?

Hi, I am running into a problem of mixing UICulture = auto and allowing users to select culture using a dropdown list. I am detecting a querystring, "setlang", and when found, setting the CurrentUICulture to what's specified in the querystring. Since I want to allow UICulture auto detecting, I add UICulture = "auto" to page directive on each page.

On a .aspx page I have seen commercial controls that serve as replacements for the <asp:Button> control that immediately disable the button on form submission so that accidental double-clicks (or impatient multi-clicks ) do not trigger the server-side event-handler multiple times .... However, 3rd party controls are not an option for this app. Currently, I have an <a href='...' > tag embedded in an <asp:ItemTemplate> in an...

Hello: I currently use Me.FormBorderStyle = FormBorderStyle.None to hide the tile bar, but it looks quite ugly. It's easy to disable the "X" button using VB6, but I really can't find out any way to do the same thing using VB.Net.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
