Hi
We have a staff database app that also stores staff pictures with each staff
record. I have been asked to design something so we can send pictures of
staff to people's mobiles when they need it for ID purposes. I have no idea
where to start on this. Has anyone had any experience with sending pictures
to mobiles from a .net app? Any pointers would be appreciated. I would not
know the phone service providers of the recipients...

Hi all,
I have been struggling to find some descent content on the net about how I
could go about creating a mobile client that is able to call a web
service(WCF or WSE3.0/2.0??), that can make use of our current ASP.NET
Membership infrastructure for Authentication and Authorization. I have read a
few articles about how WCF does support this, but I've had absolutely no luck
trying to run any samples, because everywhere I turn I need some...

I saw a MS demo a few years back where they developed a web page and the
software automatically rendered it for different devices. Is this what
I'm looking for?
http://www.asp.net/mobile/
Much of the info looks old. I have a MSDN account where can I download
it or is it already in VS 2008 and I just don't know how to find it?
I'm mainly interested in having simple pages render in Internet Explorer

Hi;
This is for a website that is just html pages, no ASP.NET. I want the
default page to be a different page if it's a mobile device. I can do
this in ASP.NET by looking at the browser size and redirecting. But is
there a way in IIS to point it to different page(s) for mobile
devices?
thanks - dave

Hi,
I recently read an article (and video) on MSDN about making a Windows Mobile
device enter unattended mode instead of suspended mode when the the
standby/power button is pressed. This allows applications to continue to run
instead of effectively pausing them when the screen is turned off. This is
achieved by PInvoking PowerPolicyNotify.
I have been developing a WM (PocketPC) application for a while now and
testing it on my HTC...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
