How to Use Standard Windows Dialogs in your projects - Select Local\Another Computer

4 New Member
I would like to use the Standard Windows Dialog - "Select Computer" in my current .NET project. This would be exactly like the dialog that pops up in many windows applications for example when Administering Services you can select "Connect to another computer..." and this dialog appears with the option to manage the local computer or another computer and the user can browse to other computers on the network.

Does anyone know whether this is possible?
I know that .NET has implementations of other standard dialogs like FileDialog and PrintDialog but what about this?

Thanks

It's obvious, that Windows XP has a Java 2 VM (including the SWING-module), because we can all run Java 2 applets in Internet Explorer. But what about the support for Java 2 Applications? I would just like to run an application packed in a JAR-file on Windows XP: JavaProg.jar (Java Archive Resource). But without installing a SDK, i don't have an association of the JAR-file to be started with JAVAW, or the JAVA command to use 'java -jar...

Hello, I have an application that has been running for years and had little problem with it. We've been retesting the latest code under Windows 2003 and found a surprise. There is a certain case where we allow the MDI app to close the database and the user can later request the open dialog. This normally calls the CDatabase open with the flags that allow the ODBC Open Dialog

I am very confused about the different ways of VC++ and C# for doing windows form/dialog design in Visual Studio.NET. In C#, after you drag & drop the components to the form, the underlying codes will be automatically modified to add corresponding objects. However, in VC++, in order to design any forms/dialogs, resources must to be created first, then we need manually

I have a VB windows forms application that accesses a Microsoft Access database that has been secured using user-level security. The application is being deployed using No-Touch deployment. The objective in utilizing this new deployment method is to reduce the maintenance overhead as well as making it easier for my users to setup and run the application initially. I have VS 2002, Windows XP, Access XP(2000 format). He is my problem....

Here's the rest of the tutorial I started earlier: Aside from text within a document, Indexing Service let you search on meta information stored in the files. For example, MusicArtist and MusicAlbum let you find MP3 and other music files based on the singer and album name; DocAuthor let you find Office documents created by a certain user; DocAppName let you find files of a particular program, and so on. Indexing Service uses plug-ins...

Hi, As part of my efforts to write a test tool that copes with GUIs nicely, I'm trying to establish how I can start a GUI process on Windows that will not bring up the window. So I try to hide the window as follows: info = subprocess.STARTUPINFO() info.dwFlags |= subprocess.STARTF_USESHOWWINDOW info.wShowWindow = subprocess.SW_HIDE

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
