Hi,
I am teaching myself J2EE. I have couple of books but how can I get
practical experience?
I installed trial version of IBM-websphere but it seems too complex
for a beginner in J2EE. I have WindowsXP.
Suggestions are welcome.

Hi everyone, I'm currently studying for my Master's in Computer
Science, and I will be working on my thesis this summer. I've been
thinking about constructing a web services application for my thesis,
as I've been interested in this technology, and I haven't had a chance
to work with it in my last job. The issue is what platform to use:
..NET or J2EE?
Prior to starting my MSc course, I worked for a software developer for
five years...

Is J2EE free or not?? I'm confused by Sun's web site.
I've been to the sun web site and found downloads pages for J2SE and
J2EE, but the J2EE page only shows updates. Does this mean that J2EE
isn't free? I noticed a page in which I could request a license for
J2EE, but I only see major companies listed as licensees.

I would like to add SIP stack to J2EE application server. I know that JCA
1.5 allows doing such thing. But JCA 1.5 is part of J2EE 1.4. Currently the
most J2EE vendors support J2EE 1.3. Can anybody share experience of
integrating a new protocol stack
into any J2EE application server?

My group recently received its first request for the the development of a
really large and complex enterprise-level application, the kind of app that
would require the use of tools like Enterprise Java Beans and J2EE (it is
something very similar to the "Titan Cruise" example supplied by Richard
Monson Haefel in his fine book "Enetrprise JavaBeans", for the people who
read it).
Of course, being all Pythonists, we wonder if there was any...

I am not a programmer but I do work in the ICT sector.
I read somewhere that J2EE would be "dying" and that PHP would be
taking its place soon...
Is this complete crap or does it have some real base ?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
