Maybe, you don't have enough pagefile size on the machine to do it. Maybe
the pagefile size on the machine is too small to be doing anything in the
..NET IDE. If the machine is Windows XP or Vista, then see if the O/S is set
to *control the pagefile size as needed*. A small pagefile size on the
machine can adversely affect the .NET IDE.

I am building the basic windows service, but on my tool box tab , there are no components, just clipboard Ring,l pointer & general. But the MSDN article Dec 2001 by Getz, "windows services: New base Classes in .NET make writing a Windows Service Easy" says it should be there. What could be wrong ??? I have the service installer components - added but that interface to add those components is different. Thanks

I'm running IIS on a Windows 2k server and have just installed the .NET framework 1.1 so I can deploy ASP.NET applications on my server through .NET Studios. All my normal ASP applications run fine in IIS but I can't run any ASP.NET pages. Everything in IIS was configured to handle the .aspx file extension by the .NET framework installation and it installed with no errors. When I try to view a simple ASP.NET page through a web browser I...

I am using VS2005 and ASP.NET 2 I want to use IIS to host some .NET remoting. I have a website I created called RemotingHost. I created another class project called RemotingServer and in there a class called TestClass (inherits Marshallbyrefobject for remoting). I then added the built assembly to the bin folder on the RemotingHost website. I created a web config file with system.runtime.remoting wellknown service for the testclass as...

Sorry if this is a duplicate post, i have found some that ask the same question - but noone seems to answer. I had to repost this because I had to update and change my msdn alias. I will re-ask the question and clarify a few things that were not clear before. This code is all executed on my dev machine running winXP sp2 and VS2005. I'm using a c# 2.0 winforms app which talks to a c#2.0 asp.net app that also contains 1 web service. Note: the webpage and web service are located side by side in the same web app.

But if I try it on PC which is connected to my customer´s network, Web Service should send request...

Im getting frustrated with .NET 2005 Who at MS decideded that a web service could not accept a DataRow as an input or reference veriable? If the results your passing to a web service only contain a single row of data, why in the world would you want to pass an entire dataset for one row. Seems like a waste of network traffic. Anywho, Ive heard this is now possible with 2.0 framework, but I havent be able to get it to work. Has anyone...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
