I would like to open a 'child' window win and check it's ready state.
Unfortunately, when I try to do so, I discover that win.document does
not appear accessable from the parent window, see below. Is this by
design or am I doing something wrong.

http://www.xmission.com/~wake/section27.html now works for me in IE/Win but not
in Mozilla/Win (my PowerBook is dead and I'm now using my mother-in-law's PC,
which limits my options for checking the page with other browsers (and for using
an FTP client I understand)). It used to display, period. In Mozilla it now
looks like something odd full of empty boxes that don't even cut and paste into
this message. It starts with ÿþ<? and that's...

Greetings!
We are working on a project that has a bunch of TrackBars spec'ed as graphic
controls. In other words, they are slick looking and green.
In the design phase, these controls look great on the printed page, though
when I try to get the TrackBar to look the way the concept was presented, it
just doesn't seem to let me tweak it.
Can you please tell me what I can do to easily customize the TrackBar

I am interested in learning a bit about skinning.
I found an article:
http://www.developerfusion.com/show/3899/
However, it says the method shown is "not very practical."
Is there a good tutorial you can recommend? Or, is it something hard enough
that I should purchase a solution from somebody?
Thanks in advance,

Hi,
I'm not a Win ME fan myself (I'm a Mac user), but I'm here in Thailand
developing software for special-needs kids, and the test PC in my home
office is a Win ME machine (sigh). So when I ported my Python program
today to the PC, it quickly crashed. Everything seems to work except
for shelve. Using the latest version of Python (2.5.1), when I do the
following in IDLE on the Win ME machine here's the result:

Further to my earlier post in alt.html, I ended up preparing these pages:
http://nrkn.com/skinning/
They list different ways to "skin" an HTML element (ie add rounded corners,
drop shadows, various other graphical effects) using images while still
allowing for viewport and text re-sizing.
Anyone know of any other techniques that I've missed?

The problem is that the returned xml has path names like

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
