Fonts in Mozilla and Document Type

Some time in the last few months a problem poped up with the fonts in
Mozilla. These pages have run ok for years but now the fonts in the
stylesheet file will not set the fonts in Mozilla they go to the default.

I include the stylesheet with the line:
<LINK href="styles.cs s" type="text/css" rel="StyleSheet ">

This has worked for years now I take out the line:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dt d">

and the fonts are set correctly.

Did I miss somthing.
Thank you

Hi Jerry,

From your description, some of your web page that apply some CSS style on
it used to display well(in Mozilla browser), but encounter some display
problem on Font now without any changing, correct?

Regard on this issue, if the page source and style sheet hasn't been
changed, I think there are two general points you can check:

1. You can check whether this is a client-side machine or browser specific.
Try testing it on some other boxes with Mozilla installed to see whether it
also raise such problem.

2. For server-side, one possible cause is that the certain CSS style sheet
is not correctly applied to the page. You can use some trace tools to
capture the http requests/response from browser to server and check whether
the css style sheets are correctly downloaded. If correctly downloaded, is
all other settings in style sheet working correctly(excep t the font
setting), for example, the border, background color ....

Sincerely,

Steven Cheng

I'm having a problem using different properties of the document object in the example javascripts in my textbook with browsers that identify themselves as using the Mozilla engine. One example of these problems is using document.layers. I have Google'd for examples of how to use the document object specifically with Mozilla, but I cannot find anything that explains why my problems occur. Could anyone here see through the included example...

This code works fine in ie and opera but not at all in Mozilla. Anybody got a clue as to how to get it right? <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"> function show(that) { if (box.style.visibility=='hidden') { that.style.visibility = 'visible'}; }

I'm just starting to play around with CSS and MovableType. My home page (http://www.jay.fm) now validates on both the CSS and the XHTML. However, the Google cached version shows the wrong font in IE6. This seems to be because of the "header" they place before the <head> block; if I save the cached copy to disk and edit that out, it displays fine. It's not a big deal, but I don't notice this problem on other pages, so I wondered if...

My goal is to accept input from the user into a text box and then parse the data using split(). The first step is this tiny program to test the split() function. It runs in IE, but in Mozilla it just hangs and keeps loading forever. I checked around on the web and in USENET, but I haven't seen any mention of split() not working in Mozilla. Thoughts? Thanks in advance. <HTML> <HEAD> </HEAD>

This problem is driving me nuts. The code at the end of this post below works fine with IE, but fails with Mozilla. You can see it in action at http://tinyurl.com/2jvo3 With Mozilla 1.4 and 1.6, the function msg works fine if it's installed as an onclick handler for the button, but fails as an onload handler for the page. The error is "console has no properties", and is triggered by the line.

so i have a <ul> and I allow the user to append items to it. The problem is that on mozilla the <span class="line"> which is just a line to divide the sections gets overlaped and doesnt move down and adjust to the newly added items like it does in iE. It just occured to me that i dont really have to use a span, and a html <hr> tag could do the trick -I will go try. But aside from that could some one explain why this occurs? And will I get...

Hi all Have a customer that wants a specific font included in her web page design; Comic Sans MS. This is one of the MS core fonts. The problem I have is that some of the *nix browsers do NOT include these fonts by default. http://www.diamondvet.com/test renders those fonts correctly using an XP box. After I installed those fonts on my machine, firefox and mozilla both rendered them correctly. So here is the question:

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
