BUFFER a page into the cache before loading page into browser

8 New Member
If I am not mistaken (but please do correct me if I am) a webpage is buffered into the cache of the machine before it is loaded into the browser.

Question: (if the above statement is true)

How can I manipulate(read , write) the stored page in the cache before it can be loaded into the browser.

NOTE: "It would be in C# way if possible. "

Please help me in this, I am trying to manipulate a page before it is loaded into my self-made browser. Cause, if this would be possible, maybe there is also a possibility that a page can be checked for being a spoof before loading it into a browser.

Hope I can find answer.

Thank you and more power!

Ichi

I have a routine that displays 60 items (with thumbnails) per page. You can click any item and displays a new page with item details. When the user back pages it runs the query again to display all the items. Is there a way to cache that page and images so that second query doesn't execute? I do offer a pop-up window using Java but is not the default and not used by many. I'd really like to get rid of that second query. ;) TIA

Can I determine if an array of image links is already in memory without using cookies or a hidden frameset? Scenario: visitor starts with Home page, images (links) for navigation pre-load no problem. Visitor follows search engine link and does not land on Home, thus no links. But if I put the same code on every page to allow for that, won't the images re-load every time those pages are loaded? If so, there's be no point in pre-loading. ...

If response.buffer is set to true, and no response.flush has been executed, is it accurate to expect that my browser should not be rendering the content which I (well Ok, someone else) is sending in response.write statements? Thanks.

All, Did anybody see this strange effect? The web application is written in C#, ASP.NET, SQL, T-SQL, etc. A pretty usual stuff, complicated enough, but works fine until... Here is a question. I don't see any problem if I start this app on my local computer against my local IE both in debug or release modes. If I upload the same app to my corporate server where it works under HTTPS here are a few possible ways.

Hello, Does anyone have any idea how Gmail does this? I have a web application and people complain sometimes about some problems and most of the time it turns out it's the browser's cache being full. The application doesn't do anything really fancy and all it does is to set a cookie. I did a search and couldn't find anything except people explainin how I shouldn't do that. Even if the users have to add the server to the trusted zone...

I need to find out how to force a page to always be reloaded from the server and not from the browser cache - regardless to how the user has his settings. I have a page that is loading a captcha picture for the user to enter a security code. The problem is that if they enter the wrong information, the page can come from the browser cache, but the picture will still display a different number. From this point on the user will never be...

We have a page that is loading very slow. There is not a lot of data, not a lot of users are connected at the same time and the page does not produce an error, so I am not sure where to start to look for why it is slowing down. I thought about the DB first and added NOLOCK to a couple of stored procedures that were being run, but with no effect. Can someone offer some tips on where to start looking or how I can begin to diagnose this...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
