Missing Search Box in VS2005 toolbar ???

Hello,

In 1 of my PCs where VisualStudio (prof. Edition) is installed, the "search
box" in the toolbar is missing.
I spend quite some time trying to get it displayed?

Does anyone know if there is a (hidden) menu to get it back?

Thanks a lot!

Choose Tools/Customize.
Click on Commands.
Click on Edit on the left.
Look for "Go To Find Combo" on the right.
Drag it up onto the menu bar where you want it to be.

I think this is what you're looking for.

Sometime ago on the comp.lang.c, I saw a teacher's post asking why C compilers produce so many error messages as soon as a closing bracket is missing. The response was simply because the compiler can't tell where a bracket is missing.... a few weeks have past, I requested a feature for the delphi ide/editor "automatic identation of code in...

I've noticed that the toolbars and menu controls got an overhaul in vs2005. Is there anyway to make them work like they do in 3rd party solutions (like infragistics or devexpress) or MFC (back in the day) where the menu item and the toolbar item is the same control. In other words, if you disable the toolbar item, the corresponding menu item...

I'm trying to add an assembly that has a couple UserControls (among other things) to the toolbar. When I browse to it, I get a message that it's can't find an assembly that it needs (ObjectBuilder) - I know my assembly uses ObjectBuilder, but I don't know what I need to do VS2005 to find it? Do I need to add it to GAC? I hope not. I seem...

Hi, I'm building a Windows application using Visual Studio 2005. For some reason, the Configuration Manager is missing from my Toolbar. So now in order to change my build mode (eg. Debug, Release), I have to go "Build" > "Configuration Manager...". Does anyone know how I can put the Configuration Manager back on to the Toolbar?

Using Visual Studio 2005 Professional. When I right click on a class the Class Designer a couple of menu items, "Create Instance" and "Invoke Static Method", should appear on the popup menu. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
