Error in Release mode in .NET web application

1 New Member
My application is a .NET web application consisting of 8 library projects in C#.Net, 2 windows based projects in VB.Net and 1 web project in C#.Net. It also uses some DLLs related to microsoft application blocks and sharepoint. 1 DLL of PDS Extender is also used as my project is an Enterprise Management Project (customization of Microsoft Project Web Access). For deploying the web application I have created a Web setup deployment (Built in Release Mode) package which creates virtual directory, copies certain files to specific location and add certain menus in Programs menu. Now when I deploy my application files are copied properly and menus are also created properly. But when try to access the web page it gives run time error i.e. it is not able to find the funtions from dll.

With above same scenario if I build the application in Debug Mode and deploy it then it works perfectly fine.

Please help if you have any idea regarding this problem or any suggestion...

Thanks in advance......

Sounds like there is a problem with the web deployment package. The most likely culprit the creation of the virtual directory, so check IIS. If the virtual directory was created before the copying of the files as implied, could this be a problem?

Obviously, you can't post the application for us to check the paths to dlls etc, but the runtime error number/ info and any other relelvant info might help.

I have no idea what is going on. I have a Login screen where someone types in their login information and this populates a datagrid based off of the login. Works great in debug and test through VS, however, when I change to release and put it out on the web it fails giving me the following error message The underlying connection was closed. Could not establish a trust relationship with the remote server.

Hi, I think it is a FAQ but I found no answer to my problem. I created a C# program that called some C++ legacy code. I created 2 projects : 1) a DLL (IPRCommWrapper.dll) including an unmanaged C++ wrapper for legacy code and a managed C++ wrapper to allow C# to call this unmanaged wrapper 2) a C# Win application

I have an asp.net ecommerce web application on a remote web server. I'm using an Access database on the back end. I've notice a few strange things. When I mimic an multiple user environment by surfin it in multiple browsers simultaneously the site generates a generic runtime error after awhile. I'm thinking this has something to do with my access database and multiple connections. I'm using forms authentication with a login page. Is...

I have read in one article that when we compile the application in release mode, all the debug classes and properties will be automatically removed from the code. I tried to implement this thing by using the following code in Page_Load event handler. Private Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load Dim intcount As Integer intcount = 0 For intcount = 0 To 4

My employer is starting to take the first steps towards migrating its Classic ASP codebase to ASP.NET v2.0. We have a copy of our existing website on the new Windows Server 2003 R2 test server, and everything is running fine. However, when I create a simple "HelloWorld.aspx" file, then browse to the page from VS.NET 2005 on the same machine, I get the following error message: ================================================ Server...

I'm developing a web app in .NET 2 using C#, and occasionally see this error, apparently something to do with the theme used on the site: Compiler Error Message: The compiler failed with error code 1. Clicking the "Show Detailed Compiler Output" link on the error page shows a large command line that looks like it's using the vbc compiler to build the auto-generated theme code, but doesn't display any useful error messages. Executing...

I have an asp.net 2.0 project that when I change the build configuration to release I get the following error: Command line error BC2014: the value 'None' is invalid for option 'debug'. If I go into the projects Advanced Compile Options and change the Generate Debug Info dropdown from None to PDB-Only the error goes away. Can anyone explain why I have to do this and what can I do to get the one option to work on a asp.net project? ...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
