Name not declared

The problem I'm seeing is that I can declare a variable and assign it a value at the top of my .aspx page. When I call the variable at the bottom of the page, I'm getting an error message that the variable has not been declared. I've gone over the simple stuff of making sure there are no spelling errors or anything like that. I've also gone as far as moved the declaration and setting of the variable closer down the page to where it is called. That seemed to work!! But it's not ideal for how the page is coded to do that. Does anyone have a clue as to what is really happening here? Have you ever experienced anything like this?

Here's a snippet of my code:
<%dim intPlate as integer = 1%>
....
some HTML code
<%=intPlate%>

Using <A name="x_y-z"></A>, I even get nervous about the _ and -. w3-recs/RECS/html4/struct/links.html seems to say all of ascii is cool and beyond. Anyway, just what is the safe range for characters in a name="" ? I don't plan to go beyond usual Unix filename chars.

Hi folks, I have a problem with an MS Access SQL query which is being used in an Access Report, and am wondering if anyone can help. Basically, my query (shown below) gets some records from a couple of tables in my database using INNER JOINS and the WHERE clause to specify the required constraints. However, I also want to read two fields from a *single* record from a table called 'Locations' and then apply one of these field's values...

I've got a piece of code where, for all the world, it looks like this fails in IE 6: hometab = document.getElementById('hometab'); but this succeeds: hometabemt = document.getElementById('hometab'); Has anyone ever seen anything like this before, or am I dreaming?

Hello, I have successfully migrated asp.net application built in VS2003/1.1 to VS2005/2.0 in my local machine. It runs good without any errors. However If I copy the application into the shared drive and try to run, its giving lot of errors..Some errors are.. Name 'DBNull' is not declared Name 'IsNothing' is not declared But the same code works in the local system. Any idea why its behaving like this ? Regards, Renil.

Hi, I have routinely added anchors to pages using both name and id: <a name="example" id="example"></a> under the possibly mistaken assumption that at some stage "name" might be deprecated but "id" was unlikely to be. Can I ask what is accepted practice currently?

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
