First WebService..but what files to upload?

Hi folks,

Just been having a play with C# Web Application project. So far I've just
created a single Web Form with some text and links. I now want to upload the
Web Form to my server space. The Form is called index.aspx . However, I'm not
sure what files exactly I need to upload? The project has currently generated
the following files -

bin (folder containing dll)
AssemblyInfo.cs
DotNetWebServic e.csproj
DotNetWebServic e.csproj.webinf o
Global.asax
Global.asax.cs
Global.asax.res x
index.aspx
index.aspx.cs
index.aspx.resx
Web.config

Do all these files need to be uploaded or just specific ones? Also, I'm used
to having index.htm as the default entry point to a regular website, will an
index.aspx by default be the entry point to a .NET website?

Thanks for any help. Apolgies for the newbie questions!

Best regards,
David

David,
you only need to upload /bin folder, .asax, .aspx and .config files.
By default IIS uses default.aspx page, not index.aspx.

Hello, I am a newbie working with .NET WebServices (in C#) and I'm trying to Upload a file to the server through a WebService call. That is, using 2 parameters in the call to the webservice (file name and path in the client side and file name in the destination server), this service would upload that file. I've been trying to solve that for a while now by using the webclient and HtmIinputFile classes but without any results. I would...

Hi there, I am writing a webservice and am wanting to use Server.MapPath to get the path to some files on the server that is hosting the webservice. I am using VB.NET atm, but am learning C#, so either example will be fine. I have searched all over the newsgroups and forums to get an example and have found many, but am unable to get any working. I have got the webservice working, without the call to MapPath. But when I try a simple...

Hi Everyone, I have a Visual C++ MFC program, and I am trying to use a webservice written in C#. When I add the webservice to my project using Add Web Reference the sproxy compiler complains about one of the object wanting to extend MarshalByRefObject object, and I get an error SDL1030. I can use the webservice in a C# project just fine but not the C++. Can anyone help me out with this?

Hi My application consists of a database, WebService and web application. The web application reads and writes data to the database via the WebService. I also want to be able to upload/download files via the WebService because my WebService handles security. My question is - how can this best be done? After some googleing a solution I found was to stream bytes in a method like this:

Hi, I've got a PHP Upload Form that works great, unless that is, the image your uploading has been modified through a photo editing software. Example: if I upload the image straight from a camera or other, it uploads fine. However, If I want to rotate the image, or resize it with photoshop or simmilar, making sure to save it again as a jpg, the PHP upload won't upload the image.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
