I am trying to develop a web service to accept a file uploaded via http post from a vba (Access) application. Thanks to helpful links in a vb newsgroup and my previous work with WinInet api I was able to write the code to do the upload. I know this works because I tested by posting to an asp page that saves the file. Now I need to create a .NET web service to accept and save the file. Of all the web service samples I found, the only ones...

I have a webform that I am creating. I need for the user to be able to pass it the path and name of a file on his/her local machine without any interaction. I don't want to have to use the file upload control. This will be an automated process on their end. They should only have to type the url with a path/file name and let it upload the file that they specify (example: They type http://www.mysite.com?FileName=C:\Test\Test.txt and it will...

Hi, We need to allow webusers to upload a file on our website (on Server3, all servers run Server 2003, remotely hosted) and eventually save it on our SBS Server (Server2) which is not exposed through our firewall. We have another server (Server1) within the SBS domain that is exposed through port 80 of the firewall on which we host some web services and images. What is the best architecture for getting the file from the remotely...

I've encounted a pretty strange problem and I'm not quite sure what to make of it. I have a web service that consumes an XML file as well as a few other parameters. This web service works fine if I use the web test interface. It also works fine if I call it from an ASP.NET page that has a text box where the XML is pasted and then passed on. However, I get an exception if I use an <input type="file"> control on the ASP page that allows...

Hello, I am a newbie working with .NET WebServices (in C#) and I'm trying to Upload a file to the server through a WebService call. That is, using 2 parameters in the call to the webservice (file name and path in the client side and file name in the destination server), this service would upload that file. I've been trying to solve that for a while now by using the webclient and HtmIinputFile classes but without any results. I would...

I have a Asp.net web application and a Asp.net Web service application. The Web application is using HtmlInputFile to get a 50M size of file selected by end user, read the data of this file and pass the data to the web service. I already modified both web.config files and changed maxRequestLength to 60000(kb). When I debug the upload process, it seems the Web application can get the 50M file and read the data without problem, but when the...

Hello, I have the following setup: The page that contains the form with file upolad HTML control resides on another server that doesn't have ASP.NET available. It may well be just static HTML. I need to program the "receiving side" of the upload. Preferrably, I'd be happy with soultion that doesn't involve webforms controls, not to make

I’m trying to upload a file to a Web Service. I have to submit the file using a standard HTML form with the <input type=“file” /tag. Ultimately, we are submitting the file from a Flash 8 application that uses Macromedia’s flash.net.FileReference class. The FileReference class behaves like a standard HTML form with the file input tag. I know there are other options for submitting files through Web Services, but we’re not able...

I've been looking at both MTOM and simple HTTP POST or PUT for file uploads. Some relevant details: ... We want to support programmatic file uploads from Winform apps. ... The files are large binaries, large enough that we would need to increase the maxRequestLength value. ... We don't need the other WS-* features that come with WSE. ... Currently a pure intranet environment. We may extend outside the firewall in the mid-term future,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development projectplanning, coding, testing, and deploymentwithout human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers.
