I've got a server where register_globals is on in php.ini, but its affecting
the way the website works. It was programmed with the assumption that it
would always be off, and i've always used the full names such as
$_SESSION etc in all the code. However, I also use some local
variables of $userid, and on this server they seem to be changing the
session variable when I use them. I don't have access to php.ini, and its
on a Win2000 server...

What is the rationalle for disabling JavaScript. AFAIK, the primary reason
is for "security purposes" - but what specific kind of threats does the
protect against? AND - is the
disabling of JavaScript something that is done very much? I know it's
impossible to answer that last question definitively - so I'm wondering if
it has presented any of you with any real problems in the day-to-day running
of your Web applications (i.e. support...

Hi,
I suddenly started getting a lot of errors from html validation (some CSS)
so I followed the following instructions to disable it.
If you'd rather not have these types of HTML validation errors show up in
your error-list, you can disable this functionality by selecting the
Tools->Options menu item in VS or Visual Web Developer. Select the
TextEditor->Html->Validation tree option in the left-hand side of the

Enabling / disabling session state can be controlled at the web.config and
the iis web site levels. If session state is disabled in web.config , is
there any reason to also disable it at the iis web site level ?

Using Ajax .NET (or javascript) to auto-refresh some pages causes the
Session timeout to reset. In my application I have certain panels that
i would like to update every 10 seconds or so, but i don't want that
to affect the timeout of the session - i still want the session to
timeout after 20 min.
Basically, i would like to NOT reset the session timeout on certain
requests (even though they use the session information).
Is there...

been filled out. Nothing I've tried so far has helped. I've put
if(!Page.IsPostBack)

Session=false;
}
else if((bool)Session==true)

Hi,
I have just started coding in PHP. I have coded a web page using HTML, JS, and PHP. An HTML table has to be populated dynamically using the data from the backend.
Presently I have 5 records in the backend table so I get 5 HTML-table rows. I have created a session object starting from the login page. The requirement is that as soon as I log in and my request gets forwarded to the foll PHP page I should be seeing the foll. dynamically...

Hello:
I am sure this question comes up a lot. I need to disable the controls
on my Windows forms so that when the BindingSource is empty some the
controls bound to it will be disabled.
This will make it clear to the user that they have to create a new
item first before they start working.
This needs to be an easy process because there are many, many forms.

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
