Hello all,
we are running a delphi application with DB2 V8.01 which is causing
deadlocks when rows are being inserted into a table. Attaching the
Event Monitor Log (DEADLOCKS WITH DETAILS) here. From the log it looks
like the problem happens when 2 threads insert 1 record each in the
same table and then try to aquire a NS (Next Key Share)
lock on the record inserterd by the other thread.
Thanks
Rohit

All,
If anyone has been following my trials over the last week see(Setting up a
Web Application on IIS 5.1 and ASP.Net Security Problems).
I'm having a problem running a Asp.Net Web Application. I've finally
narrowed the problem down to a security issue: The ASPNET (aspnet_wp)
account cannot connect to a Network resource instead of using a local path
ie: C:\Inetpub\wwwroot my development site resides on a Network Share...

I have a Web server running on Windows XP. On this Web server, I have a Web
site configured with its home directory on a network share. In the Web site,
there's a virtual folder pointing to a local folder on the Web server
containing an ASP.NET application.
I get a "Failed to start monitoring changes" when I try to run the
application. If I try to debug, I get a message "unable to start debugging

Hello
We have got a .NET application (.NET 1.1) that the users start from a
network share. After start up the user logs in and he can then minimise the
application, so that it appears as an icon down on the right hand side (like
the date information, msn icon etc.). Now when the user wants use the
application he must first maximise it or relogin (if he logged out before).
On some machines this maximisation/startup time lasts extremely...

I have an Access 2003 application that I recently converted from
Access 97. I have a routine in which I use to export the data that
the users have keyed into a text file. This text file resides on a
network drive where the back end database resides so that multiple
users can write to the same file. I have set up the path to the back
end (under the Link Manager) using the UNC (univ. naming convention).
When this export routine runs, I...

Hi,
I'm using Ubuntu 7.04.
I'm writing a sript that sends files via ftp for several destinations.
So far I used Net::FTP and it worked fine.
My problem is that I need to send files via SFTP (SSH2). I've been trying to install Net::SFTP with 'sudo perl -MCPAN -e "install NET::SFTP' but I can't. It stops in the middle of the installation:

Greetings:
I have an extremely frustrating issue. I have an application created within
VS 2005 using VB.Net and deployed to a network share using ClickOnce
deployment. I was asked to also create a traditional setup for deploying
the application. I added a traditional Windows Forms Setup project and all
worked well for both deployment methods.
My supervisor then decided to only use ClickOnce deployment. I decided to
remove the...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
