Recently i tested an application i was developing on another P.C. with the
same harware. It was a new P.C. though and did not have the .NET framework
installed on it, so i first installed Dotnetfx.exe. When i ran my application
i got a few errors about libraries and J-I-T Debugging. Also, registry
functions and such did not work.
I searched the MSDNKB and google :) and still couldn't find anything that
explained how i would go about...

I have a general question.
If I write a application using any language(C/C++/C#/VB).
How to make sure it only has one instance running? What I
need to write in source code? If multi-instances run. Is
any data confilct exsisted? Assuming I put the .exe in
shared network drive and the multi-instances run on
different PC.
How about the multi-instances run on same PC?

Is there a way to install this onto a network file share and allow a
team to access it? I would say share a CD from a networked CD drive,
but there are multiple CD's that would have to be inserted.
TIA,
Brian

Hello,
I am wondering if it is possible to create a networked application with C#
that is seen as a windows user. For example, if Bob logged onto windows and
then started the application, any access to the network made through the
application would be seen as 'C# application user' and not 'Bob'.
What I want to accomplish is to create an encrypted folder on a server where
files within the folder can be accessed through the application,...

All,
If anyone has been following my trials over the last week see(Setting up a
Web Application on IIS 5.1 and ASP.Net Security Problems).
I'm having a problem running a Asp.Net Web Application. I've finally
narrowed the problem down to a security issue: The ASPNET (aspnet_wp)
account cannot connect to a Network resource instead of using a local path
ie: C:\Inetpub\wwwroot my development site resides on a Network Share...

I would like to access a network share from my vb.net application. I do not
want to map a drive to the share, however. I would also like to specifiy a
user credential to use when connecting to the share, as the user running the
application will not have security rights to hit the share themselves.
Any pointers on this?

When creating website applications within Visual Studio 2005, I use the File
System method because it meets the needs of our environment. In choosing the
location of the directory where the files will reside, I can choose a share
on a network file server or a local directory on my workstation. I use the
network file server share because there are others who need access to the
files as well, plus the files also get backed up.

I am coding a .NET 2.0 application that needs to be able to run from a
network share (intranet), but the security settings does not allow me to do
this by default.
How can I - in the installation program or by manual intervention
afterwards - grant FullRights to the program?
The program consists of three modules:
WinEXE - a plain Visual C++ 32-bit .EXE file

I have a VS2005 VB.Net windows form application deployed to a share drive.
The windows explorer security permissions for this application (.exe) file
is set for Everyone with List Folder/Read Data not allowed. This is done so
that users cannot take away a copy of the .exe file. When I execute the
..exe from the client computer I get .Net Framework Initialization Error,

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
