Hi,
I've got a problem with regular expressions and strings containing
Swedish characters (åäö).
I basically have a PHP script that highlights certain words in a text. I
found the code attached below in the commented manual at php.net. It
works great for all words that do not contain Swedish characters. The
words that do contain åäö will not be highlighted.

I'm trying to process a collection of text files, reading word by word. The
program run hangs whenever it encounters a word with an accented letter
(like rôle or passé) - ie something that's not a "char" with an ASCII code
in 0..127
I've searched the ANSI C++ standard, the internet and various text books,
but can't see how to workaround this one. I've tried wchar_t and wstring
without success.
But rather than spending lots of time on...

I like to make foreign letters to appear in the textarea. For
instance, when typing the letter 'a' on the keyboard, the Japanese
letter &#+12449; would appear in the textarea.
Could somebody insert a simple code in following program? I will
follow suit from there.
<style>
body { font-family:arial;}
textarea { font-family:"lucida sans unicode"; }

I have a paragraph of text pasted into a word document, it's in Polish,
complete with polish characters. They show up just fine in word, but
the program I use for web page programming, HomeSite, won't translate
it. When I paste the text into the code, the special characters are
missing. If they would show up there I could use the Replace Special
Characters feature to change it to the proper code, but it won't even
paste into it...

Hi,
I've made an input page in asp.net and the records are saved BUT without
the 'foreign letters' like é, ä, ü and so on!?
What could be the problem?
My SQL database accepts these letters without problems, so it has to be
asp.net who deletes them while inserting the record into the SQL
database. The field in the database is defined as varchar(250).

I wrote the following code to concatenate every 2 keys of a dictionary and
their corresponding values.
e.g if i have tiDict1 = tiDict1 = {'a':,'b':} i should get
tiDict2={'ab':} and similarly for dicts with larger no. of
features.
Now i want to check each pair to see if they are connected...element of
this pair will be one from the first list and one from the second....e.g
for 'ab' i want to check if 1 and 3 are connected,then 1 and...

Hi, I was wondering how I could read, char by char letters from a text document.
I'm making a game, and I have decided this method is probably the easiest way to make maps with collision ect.
I the file is 48x27, so overall 1296 charactors need to be read, and the images drawn on screen, they then need to be read directly to check for collision, the only code I have found so far is to read each charactor in series.
Incase I explained...

can answer some questions on it, the problem I'm having is that it is
returning back mostly gibberish and I really don't know what I can do
to change it into proper text. Thre is a section at the bottom of my
output that is in proper english but I don't know about the rest. The
file I am reading is a.HDR file and this is the code:
#include <fstream>

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
