Some history,
I have a Maxtor OneTouch II USB 2 backup drive with Retrospect Express
HD.
I recently found that Retrospect Express HD hangs at Updating Status.
This has happened before, and all that was required was a clean
reinstall.
This time, I found several possible solutions in Maxtor's knowledge
base, particularily Answer 2352 - which notes that .NET 1 broke the
program. However, none fixed the problem, see below.
First, I uninstalled and reinstalled the Maxtor One Touch and
Retrospect Express HD. No change.
Next, I deleted the RBC file and all other files on the OneTouch II
drive and uninstalled/reinstalled the Maxtor and Retrospect Express HD
software again. Still did not work.
I then installed Maxtor's patch WIN_ReXHDOT2_DR VUP.EXE. That did not
help.
I reinstalled the Microsoft .NET 1.1 patch #885055, per Answer 2353.
Retrospect still hangs at updating status.
I resently installed version 2.0 of NET. Seems like the likely
suspect. Whatever it is, Retrospect Express HD is still hanging at the
updating status point.
What should I do now? 12 6075
The dotnetfx 1.x and 2.0 are pretty mainstream installs. It is unlikely this
is the cause of your problem but it is possible. Sounds like it is an issue
with EMC / Retrospect. Look to them for support.

Quite possible that there is an issue related to the install of the v2.0
framework, but you unlikely to come up with a fix. Talk to EMC, they will
have to work with Microsoft.

Quite a few posts at Dantz this morniing both I and "PMC" found that the

It looks like the fix is uninstall .NET v. 2 and Dantz Retrospect 6. Then,

Dantz posts a fix. It is NOT compatible. You must uninstall .NET 2, see http://kb.dantz.com/display/2/search...ds&r=0.7285578
So much for .NET 2.

I need my textbox to work more smoothly with respect to line breaks.
When I have data pulled from the database into a textbox there are hard
line breaks at the end of each line (by definition how Lines property
works, right?). But, the textbox is used for editing data previously
entered into the database. Ideally, what I want is just a hard break
at the end of each paragraph so users can smoothly enter or remove data
anywhere without...

I understand that when a switch statement is used without breaks, the

(1) a switch statement with breaks
(2) the if/else statements that have the same results as (1)
(3) a switch statement without breaks...

definately has line breaks in it, because I
replaced all the line breaks with <br /> tags ( using the php function
