I'm writing a class library that will be consumed by other applications,
both web and form, and may also be loaded dynamically. I need the assembly to
perform some validation immediately after it is loaded, and possibly shut
itself down. I cannot find an event or mechanism to detect when my assembly
is loaded. Any suggestions?

I am loading source files into several iframes, with each load happening
after some user-generated event (like clicking a button). The loading works
but I need to determine when the source file is FULLY loaded so I can do
some calcs on its scroll height within the frame. If I check the scroll
height right away (after fetching the file), it's wrong (some small number)
but if I wait a couple of seconds I get the right value. I need to do...

Hi, I am trying to determine if the current OS supports alpha channel, to
know which version of the icons to load. I have written code that detects
Windows XP or later, and it works really well. Except a little detail. If
the manifest file to load Microsoft.Windows.Common-Controls 6 (and enable XP
themes) isn't there on Windows XP, the icons with alpha channel are loaded
but don't appear correctly. Would it be possible to detect the version...

How do a windows-service detect whether a user is logged or not on a computer?
So far i've found nothing in the windows api or any code examples that will allow me to figure this out.
The solution i have today is to use Diagnostics.Process.GetProcesses and then iterate through the array i get and look for
explorer.exe
Explorer.exe is not loaded when a user is logged out of a computer.
I found this on winlogon states:...

I need to detect if page loaded or not with a script (in a child
frame). The IE has a special readyState function, is there anything
similar for Mozila browsers?
Is there a work around?
Thank you.

Since the "on fly addition..." thread has taken another direction, I'm
opening a new one to be more explicit and recenter the subject.
Well, the subject is to detect when a document is well loaded inside an
iframe, knowing this document is CGI generated and that I can't modify
the CGI itself (ie. add an onload event in the document body).
All is said in the three HTML file I've copied below. Just create the
three in same directory,...

Can someone tell me how to detect "Action Cancelled" page with out
polling.
I have a frame set and I want to make sure the other frame is
displaying what it is supposed to without polling. For some reason
the page does not file OnError or OnLoad events.
Any help is appreciated.

Hi all,
I have authored several native DLLs (call them A, B, and C). These
libraries have references between each other (A calls B which calls C).
These libraries are built and made available to callers both in "debug" and
"release" versions. The release versions of the libraries are A, B, and C
(.lib and .dll), while the debug versions are A_debug, B_debug, and C_debug
(.lib and .dll).
Now, because these libraries maintain internal...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
