When writing a function that takes in a variable number of parameters and
processing it using func_get_args or a similar technique, I'm assuming that
one is only able to use the pass by value method of parameter passing. Can
someone confirm or deny this for me?
Below is a trivial example of what I'm talking about. I'm assuming the
function below does nothing useful.

Many thanks to all who replied to my previous post regaring proper
installation of phpMyAdmin on unix/apache.
Okay, I thought I had correctly followed all the steps to
password-secure the directory where I installed phpMyAdmin on my RedHat9
machine running apache, but I must be missing something:
1. Create a directory in /var/www/html to place the files.
2. Load the files.
3. Check the index.php and make sure it pretty much all works...

I installed PHP5, Apache2 and OpenSSL on my Debian woody server.
Everything seems to have installed fine without any complaints.
I can bring up my .php test page fine on the ssl https. But when I try
to bring it http up on port 80 I get the download-a-document and
what-do-you-want-to-open-it with dialogue box, as if there is no PHP on
the machine at all.
Is the problem in the php.ini file and/or the httpd.conf file?

I'm importing some data from Foxpro to Postgres, there is atable wich
contains aprox 4.8 million rows and it size about 830MB. I uploaded it
to Postgres using dbf2pg and worked fine, it tooks about 10-15 minutes.
Now I'm inserting some data from that table to a brand new table in
Postgresql, for that I'm doing insert into ... select from. The point is

database as the backend. The program works but the performance is really

I have a baseclass named Entity. All stuff like Customer,Invoice,Article
and so on will derive from this class.
I have fields in the base class like "tablename" and "primarykeyname"
which is used to create the database operations on the class.
now the question is: how do I enable my base class to initialize these
values, but the values must not be changeable at a later time.
I do not want the variables to be set as in the baseclass'...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
