Hello, I'm pretty new to Python, though I have a fair bit of experience with C/C++, Java, Perl, PHP and others. I installed Tim Golden's wmi module (http://tgolden.sc.sabren.com/python/wmi.html), in the hopes it would help me list and work with services on my Win32 machine. Now, everything seems fine except for one thing : Listing services!

I am new to scripting. I am looking for a way to find a filename in a directory using regular expressions. I do not have a client-server setup i.e. the directory that I want to search in is local (the same directory in which the script resides). What functions are used to list one by one the files in a directory so that I may match the filename with a regular expression (say to find all files which begin with profile_5). Any...

I want to use strrchar(source_string,last_char ) function from string.h header file,to find out the last occurrence of the NON SPACE Alphanumeric Character. Then i will put a NULL CHAR after incrementing that position, received by strrchar() function by 1. This is my idea of Trimming a string from right . According to the definition of the strrchar function,i am supposed to

Hello, I know that macros are evil, but I recently came across a problem that I couldn't figure out how to solve with templates. I wanted to create a set of singleton event objects, and wrote the following macro: #define GET_SINGLETON_EVENT_FUNCTION(FUNCTION_NAME,MANUAL_RESET,\ INITIAL_STATE,EVENT_NAME) \

I make and run macros all the time - now I need to schedule some reports to refresh from my machine round the clock. Problem is in order for the macros that do all my refreshing won't run unless I do one of 2 things - either reduce my security settings to low or actually click the button "enable macros". If i re-set the security settings - I cannot get to the macro's to edit them if need be (they automatically close the application) Is...

Hello! Has anyone had trouble running macros on the Access runtime version on Vista? I tried enabling macros in the trust center, and thought for sure this would solve the problem! But, alas, my hopes were in vain - I still get the 2950 error when the Autoexec macro runs. I don't think it's a trust folder issue because I'm set the registry key of the app path in the install wizard, and the program doesn't give the warning message when I...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
