Enable Macros automatically but only in a scheduled event

56 New Member
I make and run macros all the time - now I need to schedule some reports to refresh from my machine round the clock. Problem is in order for the macros that do all my refreshing won't run unless I do one of 2 things - either reduce my security settings to low or actually click the button "enable macros".

If i re-set the security settings - I cannot get to the macro's to edit them if need be (they automatically close the application) Is there a way to force the code to stop once it's running outside the test environment? I would actually like to be able to see the report to make sure it's running properly from time to time.

I don't want to have to work 24 hours a day and come in and click the button every time it refreshes....

so is there a way to build into the excel document - that if no button is pushed - that it automatically will enable macros? (this would be the best option)

Thanks!

You just need to sign your macros so that you can run them at your security level. Looks like http://www.excelsig.org/Tips/0409_di...rtificates.htm has a lot of links to how this is done. It's probably hard to figure out the first time, but easy after that. HTH --Sam

Hi, I have a problem because I don't know how to start my script automatically after a special event happens. In detail: I store data from a PLC. Every 30 seconds the data is stored in a new file. After the file is stored I would like to start my script that analyzes the data right away. Any help how to do this is deeply appreciated.

Hi! I scheduled a DTS-Import from MySQL, whenever I run it manually (Right-Click on the DTS package) it runs through without any problems. But firing it by a schedule doesn't work!? Just to exclude any issues regarding users/roles, I created a DTS to export files to my desktop to an EXCEL-sheet. Manually export as well as scheduled export works fine.

....in certain cituations they can be useful if not for anything else, then at least for saving a lot of repetetetetetitititive typing. :-) Beyond the point of "do something better instead", I'm curious about how the following syntactical problem can be solved. It should apply equally to C and C++ as it mainly is a preprocessor-related problem. I tryed to define something similar to the following example: ...

If anyone could help me out here I would be eternally grateful. I have scheduled a data I am using to retrive some information that I require every day at a set time into a single excel spreadsheet. So far so good – this works fine. However, every time the new updated data is imported into the spreadsheet, it overwrites the exisating data in the spreadsheet losing me the previous days data. Is it possible to schedule a macro within...

I have a VB.NET app that crashes when run from the Windows scheduled tasks, but runs fine when the run-as user is logged on. The app also runs fine from the scheduled jobs if the run as user is disconnected. The O/S is Windows Server 2003, the app is created with VB.NET 2003. The .NET framework is up todate with Windows releases. The APP opens connections to an SQL Server 2003 database and an ODBC sql connection to an iSeries database. ...

Consider the following scenario. Currently a .Net application is used to generate reports. The end user needs the reports twice in a day.So he runs the application at scheduled time for report generation. Now the client wants to automate this process such that the application should become a scheduled task at the desired time of the client. That is, the client need not run the application every time he needs. When the IIS starts, the application...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies.
