I am building a C++ program (main.exe) with VC6 which expects to call the
Python DLL. When I start it (under the debugger), I get: "This application
has failed to start because python24_d.dll was not found. Re-installing the
application may fix this problem."
I built Python24_d.dll using VS.NET 2003 (which I bought specifically for
that purpose but cannot use for our project, boo hoo).
I am building a debug version of main.exe which...

MSVC6 (SP5) gives this error when I try to use a non-pointer type to a class
that is forward-referenced:
reo.cpp(8) : error C2027: use of undefined type 'B'
However Borland's free 5.5 compiler successfully compiles the same code
snippet.
/* ----------------------------- */
class B; // forward reference

I am trying to switch to STLPort 4.6.2 from the MSVC STL.
My project uses Spirit 1.6.0 and MSVC++ 6.
I have configured STLPort as follows:
#define _STLP_NO_OWN_IOSTREAMS 1
#define _STLP_USE_OWN_NAMESPACE 1
#define _STLP_REDEFINE_STD 1
In other words, STLPort is configured to used MSVC's iostreams.

I use this convention frequently:
Exit_Here:
Exit Sub
HandleErr:
Select Case Err.Number
Case 3163
Resume Next
Case 3376

Hi,
Was wondering if anybody could help. I'm slowly trying to migrate over to
the .NET using windows forms, but still have a need to support existing
systems developed in MSVC 6 using MFC and VB6.
So my question is, can I develop code in C# in a DLL that I can then invoke
from MSVC 6 using MFC. As yet I have not seen any examples or samples of
this being done.
Thanks

First of all, i'm using the standard Release and Debug configurations.
I don't know enough to meddle with those.
I compile and link in Release mode, and we are all good.
I compile and link in Debug mode, and a get:
TestClass.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol _CSloadData
plus a few other similar errors from the same library.
Now first of all I thought i must have been missing a *.lib in the

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
