How to prevent TreeView from scrolling itself

The treeview has this habit of scrolling when you change the tree's selection so that the selected item is visible. 9 times out of 10 this is the behavior that you'd want, but what do I do to prevent the tree view from scrolling when making a selection? Is there a flag I can pass in with the selection change message? Is there a notification that I can grab and block?

Thanks

I teach HS computers and one of my kids has a web site with a textbox of info that the user can scroll down and read. The problem is that users can also enter text into it. Is there a way, or a better control, method, to prevent user from entering text? Thanks, Jim

Using VS 2003, VB.NET: Have a TreeView filled with TreeNodes. Initially when my app starts up the TreeView is getting a horizontial slider. The problem is that the slide is full right... I want it to be full left. The only way I see how to control the scrolling on the TreeView is the "EnsureVisible" property and in this case its not helping. Any ideas on how to programatically set the horizontal scroll to be full left? Thanks in advance...

Is anyone aware of any issues with Drag and Drop in a treeview having trouble scrolling past the top/bottom? For this particular control, scrolling down works about 50% of the time and is pretty sensitve (the mouse has to be just so). Scrolling up doesn't work at all. I have tried docking it on a panel and giving the panel a nice thick dock padding to help separate it from other controls on the dialog and it doesn't seem to help.

I created a user control that is made up of a TreeView and a VScrollBar. I set the TreeView.FullRowSelect = True and it works as expected (full row is visible, appears on top of everything else) but only sometimes. Other times it appears behind the parent form and all that is visible is the last few characters of that row. Anyone know what might be causing this and how I can fix it? Thanks.

Hi, I have a MS treeview webcontrol in my page, it is wrapped with a div tag so that I can provide scrolling (the treeview has the potential to get quite long). However, when the scrolling is invoked, I cannot expand any treenodes. The exact behaviour is that the scrollbar will scroll to the current selected node. Example: If I have 40 nodes all with subnodes (so the plus is beside them), Node1 is selected. I scroll all the way down to...

I programmatically place a treeview inside a DIV tag to enable scrolling. I am also dynamically populating the nodes in the ExpandNode event. Before placing the treeview within the Div, everything worked properly. After wrapping it within the div tag, I get the following behavior: * If I click in any of the nodes that are visible without scrolling, they expand properly * If I use the arrow keys to scroll up or down to 'newly visible'...

Hi, I'm trying to expand a special Node of my TreeView from Codebehind. I have a TreeView on a page for navigating to another site. On the other tsite here is the same TreeView more precisely a new TreeView with the same nodes ;) So I would like to keep the expanding state of the first Tree for the second one on the next page. At least the last selected node (path will be saved in query string) should be expanded.

I have a Windows Form application using a TreeView. I added buttons to automatically expand or collapse all rows up or down a level when pressed, and wrap all instructions in BeginUpdate / EndUpdate. However, during the operation, the scroll bar goes to the bottom and is continually updated (changes size) until it is done. I would like the entire TreeView display to remain unchanged during processing, and to remain in the same...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
