ActiveX Control Licence Problem

I'm attempting to port a VB6 application to C# and have previously used the
mswinsck.ocx control (on a different machine). On this machine Im told that
I dont have licence permission to use the control. Since I'm an MSDN
Universal subscriber shouldn't I have sufficient rights? How do I address
the licence for this ActiveX control?

Bob,

I would ask this question in your situation in the newsgroup.

Microsoft.publi c.dotnet.langua ges.upgrading

If it is C# or VBNet is not so important in this case.

(Because I thought that Herfried K. Wagner know the answer on this, and he
is often active in that newsgroup)

When you want to have more change I would ask it in the dotnet.language .vb
newsgroup, there Herfried is almost for sure all days active, you only have
than to change in your question VBNet instead of C#.

(Because the upgrade newsgroup is a quiet inactive newsgroup)

I hope this helps,

Cor

Dear Experts, We are currently using True DB Grid 7.0 with VB6 on Windows 2000 platform. Our objective is to display Excel like formatted data (in rows and columns), allow users to perform cut/copy and paste operations on the selected range of cells and, lastly to get data entered by the users in different cells for further processing. Now the users report that this grid control is difficult to use and the behaviour(in terms of user...

I put the same ActiveX control in a VB program, and when I run the VB program on that same machine, I can view the ActiveX control fine. He is using Citrix. The same ActiveX controls can be viewed on other machines. When trying to view 1 of the ActiveX control, he got an error "Visual Basic Run-time redist...

I am having an issue deploying an ActiveX control. This is a .NET project in C#. The ActiveX control is written in VB6. I use the PDW (Package and Deployment Wizard) to create a .CAB for the control. The problem is that sometimes the ActiveX control installs successfully and sometimes it doesn't. We have various test machines running different operating systems. On one machine, running Windows 2000, SP4, the control installs...

Hi, I created an activex control (C++), and it uses another COM dll (C++). This COM dll links with a static library that dose some calculation. (both are debug multithreaded dll) I created a C# client having activex control embedded at the very beginning (added in the design window); then, I created another same activex control at the runtime. After the 2nd activex control is created, I start to get errors on the function calls to the...

I have downloaded Custom Control (Multi-Column DropDown With AutoComplete) from the web. In the sample I downloaded (VB.NET application) it works perfectly. I tried to put the same control to the ASP.NET application by adding the custom control's project into my solution and then added reference from my main project to this project.

Hi. I've never created an ActiveX control before, so I know little about what it is capable of and what its limitations are. My problem is this: I have to create a way to send multiple documents from the web server to a printer on the user's network. The way it works today the user has to manually download each document and send it to his printer, but now they want me to create an automated process. Will I be able to download documents...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
