Dear Experts,
We are currently using True DB Grid 7.0 with VB6 on Windows 2000
platform. Our objective is to display Excel like formatted data (in
rows and columns), allow users to perform cut/copy and paste
operations on the selected range of cells and, lastly to get data
entered by the users in different cells for further processing.
Now the users report that this grid control is difficult to use and
the behaviour(in terms of user friendliness) is quite strange and
unlike Excel which is what they are used to. The selection, cut and
paste and insertion behaviour is very annoying.
Therefore keeping all this in mind, can anyone suggest a better grid
control that he/she has experienced. Any comments regarding AAA Easy
grid, itgrid or Formula One grid! Please also note that there is no
financial limitations, we can invest more to work with a quality
product.
Looking forward to hear your comments/suggestions.

I've heard lots of good things about the Sheridan data-grid control. We're
probably going to buy it for our company, and it seems like a very powerful
and customizable control. However, I've never used it so can't comment on
usability issues, but you may find reviews of it on the web. The URL is http://www.infragistics.com/products...atawidgets.asp, and it costs
£200. The licence is on a per developer basis, and allows unlimited
distribution of the widgets in products.

I've just d/l'ed a freeware data-grid off the web. http://www.scgrid.com/ http://www.scgrid.com/download/scgridfree.zip
They also offer a shareware one, but I haven't really used that. I've been
using it for a couple of hours and it seems to be able to do everything I've
seen in screenshots of the Sheridan control. The 'look-and-feel' seems to be
very customizable too, so you should be able to replicate that 'Excel' feel.
Hope that helps, Rowland.

I use both True DB Grid 7.0 and the Sheridan controls in my program
and like both. I find the Sheridan grid is easier to work with, but
that the True DB Grid has more features that I need in some places in
my program. Additionally, in other programs I have written, I have
incorporated Excel directly into the program.

Does "Formula One" even exist as a COM product anymore? Last I heard, it
was a Java-only control I think. I used to own it when it was
distributed as an ActiveX product by the original company that developed
it, and it was an excellent, powerful product. Then the company sold it
to another company which, in the next release (which happened to fix a
particularly annoying bug), changed it from royalty-free distribution to
a "per seat" licensing scheme. That made the product unaffordable for me
to continue with and I switched over to Farpoint's Spread grid (which
also provided Excel functionality in addition to being an excellent
grid). I bought in at Version 3 and have upgraded it a few times. The
product now stands at Version 7. You may want to consider it in your
search. http://www.fpoint.com/products/spread/spread.aspx

Hello!
I'm desperately trying to make my VB6 ActiveX "UtraGrid 2.0" work on
Access 2003 VBA, but it seems impossible. I can place the physical
object into a from, but can't get to its data-binding properties. If I
dimension a object variable in the form's code module, I can access all
of it's properties. I tried to use the command "Set SSultraGrid.Object
= SSUltraGridVariable", but this generated the error "438 - Object

Hi all,
I'm developing a C# .Net Windows Forms application, and am trying to
"host" mshtml.
Observing ItWriting control
(http://www.itwriting.com/htmleditor/index.php), I saw it implements
OLE2 interfaces to host the mshtml control. Mshtml was written to be
used through OLE, so that's it: If you're trying to 'host' a control
you need to emulate the environment for which the control was written.

I am trying to build a custom crosstab type of grid where I take some items
in a data grid and based on the content of the current item compared to the

In order to do this, I need to have full control over the conditional logic
for how items get displayed within a repeater element which I'm not seeing
as possible.
How can I cursor through a data set, apply...

Hi everybody.
My problem is - I want to take control over an ActiveX control of another running process. All I can obtain is a hwnd of the mentioned control. I can explore the control (coclass?) interfaces using OLE/COM viewer.
I tried to get the IUnknown interface of the control through IAccessibleFromWindow and it seems possible. But when I query IUnknown interface for another (coclass?) interfaces (for instance IGrid for MSDataGrid) it...

I have Googled and done a search in the VB induced help. No answer is
apparent.
What is the difference of dlls prefixed with Ax and those without? Best
I can see, Ax stands for the older "ActiveX".
I have an application which seems to want both versions. They are both
listed in the References page top pane along with some System and
Drawing dlls.

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
