We recently ported our code from VSNET2002 to 2003
After migration, we noticed that several properties of one of our classes no longer pop up in intellisense ( the get_ set_ methods pop up, but the properties don't).
Some digging shows that the MSIL generated for the culprit properties includes a few extra method attributes ( newslot virtual...

Hi,
How exactly do you use the condition property to tell the installer not to
overwrite changed registry values?
Initially, I want certain registry values within a given key set to the
value contained within the registry view (right click the install project
and navigate to View->Registry). However, if the user runs the setup.exe...

Hi,
Is there any way in which I can monitor / hook the Registry, and upon a
call to a specific key from a specific application - swap the returned
value?
I was thinking of using this method to overcome the "click" sound of
the WebBrowser, without having to affect the Registry permanently. This
way I could monitor the call for the sound...

Hi,
I have developed a VB application in VS2005 and deployed it sucessfully to
XP using an MSI file built with a standard VS setup project. The MSI creates
some keys under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software. However when deploying to Vista,
although the setup completes without error, the registry entries are not
created. This occurs even when run...

Hi!, I'm trying to delete some registry keys and subkeys with a vbs script, deploying it through gpo starup script. The Os is Windows 2003 Enterprise Server R2 and the clients are Windows Xp.
The problem is that, although I run the script perfectly in local double-clicking it, when the script is deployed via gpo, registry keys remain undeleted....

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in...
