Will MS support snap-in development in C# with VS2005

Hi,
Does anyone have an idea if MS will support MMC snap-in development in
the managed env in VS2005( proper development and not the COM interop
solution )? whatever preview of VS 2005 that is available on the MS
site does not mention anything whether they'll support this.
Thanks in advance..

Check with Microsoft to be sure but the expectation is pre-Longhorn.

Well then, is a Beta version of MMC 2.1 available? As in the Beta 1 of
VS 2005 is already public..If not yet, when should I expect MMC 2.1
Beta to be publicly announced?

MMC 2.1 beta is not yet available, although I'm sure that when it is this
list will be notified. I don't expect that there is any tie to VS.

Still having problems with my Web Setup App. I deleted the registry keys for my installer because it refused to uninstall when I ran the uninstaller, and having the previus version on my machine prevented me from installing a newer version. Now I'm getting a new error: "This advertised application will not be installed because it might be unsafe. Contact your administrator to change

Using Visual Studio .Net, I've had some success getting my window to snap to the edge of the screen when dragging, but it just isn't very clean looking. I've done all the usual searches on the Net for an example, but I've come up empty-handed. Can anyone point me to a good example? TIA!

Dear cj2, The Visual Studio 2008 uses the .NET Framework 3.5, you can still use the Caspol tool to grant FullTrust permission for your application. But if you install the .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 beta , applications run from a network share will receive a grant set of FullTrust by default. You can refer to this blog for more information: FullTrust on the LocalIntranet

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
