Interop.MSHelpS ervices not strongly named

I have a forms based plugin architecture using C# that includes help files using MSHelpServices. However, my strongly named assemblies cannot be created because Interop.MSHelpS ervices is not strongly named. I get the following message during a build, presumedly from AL.exe:

Assembly generation failed -- Referenced assembly 'Interop.MSHelp Services' does not have a strong name

What is the strategy for handling this?

Jack,

I'm unfamiliar with MSHelpServices, but I am assuming it's just a COM component. (Because of the 'Interop.MSHelp Services' )

This file (interop assembly) is created for you when you create a reference through visual studio.net, and as such there is no control. However, VS.NET just uses tlbImp.exe which comes as part of the SDK. You can use the /keyfile parameter to specify a strong name key file to use for signing the created interop assembly.

Using this approach to create the interop assembly should help.

Cheers

Hey all, I'm really going through a small hell right now - I've completely lost it :) I made a project, using two interop libraries from exchange (created them as in this msdn article: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnsmtps/html/writingmngsinks.asp). I set my project properties as 'Register as COM interop' to true, I can install it my project on my developement machine without a flaw. Great.

I want to be able to get a list of all custom named fields in an Excel worksheet, but I am having trouble with this. In the code below, access to a field that I named "DEALCODE" works fine - I get the value. When I try to get a collection of named cells in the loop below, I come up with only one entry: 'Portfolio Company Information'!Print_Area The part before the ! is obviously my sheet name, but I have a whole slew of custom named cells in...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
