Referenced assembly 'interop.WbemSc ripting' doesn't have a strong

Hi!

I'm using a Strong Name Key to create our assemblies, this key has the Full
Trust security so we can use those "mini tools" from network drives...

I'm trying to use WMI to get access to data in our SMS Server...

Now, when I tried to create my assembly I got this message...

"Unable to emit assembly: Referenced assembly 'interop.WbemSc ripting' does
not have a strong name"

What is the problem?

How can I use WMI as required in the way I need?

Is there another way to get access to this data?

Thanks!

Hi,

AFAIK, if an assembly have a strong name, all assemblies it depends on
should also have it. It seems you can use the technique described in
"How to link to an ActiveX Control from a Strongly Named Assembly"
(http://blogs.msdn.com/shawnfa/archiv...13/352636.aspx) but using
TlbImp instead of AxImp.

Roman

I've built an Assembly to wrap around a COM component. However, I need to add it to the GAC. Upon trying to do that, I'm trying to give the assembly a strong name, which fails because the com interop generated assembly it uses doesn't have a strong name :? Can I sign the interop assembly with some cmd-prompt tool ? or, is there another way to achieve what i want ?

Hello Gurus, I wrote a .NET application using C# and exported some interface for COM usage. I did register my application COM interface using the REGASM.exe and some more code in application. It all looks fine when looking in the OLE View utility and by looking in the registry. But when I try to instantiate the COM object using C++ or VB I'm getting the error "The system cannot find the file specified" (Run-time error -2147024894...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
