Hi,
I read a lot of threads about Oracle8i Client 8.1.7 installation. I
did not succeed to install this product on a Pentium 4 Windows NT
workstation.
I downloaded the patch number 1507768 from metalink. The installation
failed too. I downloaded a SUN JRE 1.1.8.16 from SUN archives
products. Same result : installation failed.
I did not download Oracle Universal Installer 2.2.0.12.0 and JRE
1.3.1.1.0a. (Oracle8i Client Release Notes...

Hi,
I am having trouble with an install of Oracle 9i Release 2 on Linux
Mandrake 9.1. I have 512 MB DDR RAM and a Duron 850 CPU.
The install appeared to run fairly seamlessly except for a handful of
problems :
1) Oracle complained that it could not set the file permissions on
four files. They were

I installed VS.NET 2003 and the framework on Windows XP Pro and it seems to
have caused problems with VB6 projects which use ODBC data controls to
connect to MS Access XP. I've also been told that this has happened to
someone else at work who had alot of problems with VB6 projects after
installation.
When I installed VS.NET 2003, I uninstalled the previous version of VS.NET
and the framework before installing VS.NET 2003.
The VS.NET...

Having a problem installing a DB2 client on a machine running AIX
version 5.0. Client appeared to install one time succesfully, then
was uninstalled and a reinstall was attempted. For some reasons, it
does not complete the reinstall. See the status report from the GUI
installer at the end of this note. Errors are towards the bottom.
Everything installed in /usr/opt for DB2 but the sqllib folder that is
supposed to be created in...

I have some problems with my IE 6 (and IE 5.5 separate) installation,
that I still (have to :-() use for website testing. 3 problems:
- IE 6 and even IE 7 (when I install standalone version) don't show
error dialogues any more. The error dialogue appears usually as popup
or when I click on the yellow traingle in the lower left corner (if
there's an error). I think this problem correlates with the security
setting level. IE 7 has just the...

I have no idea where to post this question, or even if its appropriate for me
to post it here. I don't know if installing a VB.Net program has caused the
problem I'm having or not. All I know is I did install a VB.Net program on my
desktop computer and lately its been acting very strangely. It could also be
the result of something else, but I'm not sure.
The symptom I'm having is the following.
When I start up my desktop computer I am...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
