Resetting permissions on Windows

If I am using Win98 SE (yes yes, I agree...), will underneath still
work:

I have tryed to follow above and similar advices, but haven't had a
lot of luck.
I will try again soon, but I was wondering wether there was an easier
way
(e.g. if there was a "reset" command I could run that also works on
Win98).

The long story is:

OK, so I have a MySql (4.0.15) server running
on a Win98 SE (for testing against over LAN).

We had 2 accounts set up.
1) Our "admin": root@localhost [+ password]
2) Our "normal": MyUserName%Chos enHosts [+ password]

I was using MySqlFront and discovered that "MyUserName "
did not have *Select* priviledges.. "OK (that is really odd)" I
thought
(even more so since using "SELECT" had shown to work).

Then I took a look (from the admin account - localhost) on the admin
account..
It did not have *Grant*. Now... That was probably stupid, but I
decided to
try give it *Grant* (I know, seems odd, how to grant without having
grant,
but.. "Worth a try" I figured) from MySqlFront (I did not see/save the
SQL
it generated)...

And now.. I am locked out...I can no longer connect to it with the
"root" account....
I get "access denied for user " (bla bla). Error 1045.
I can however still connect from the "MyUserName " account

OK, I have it working now. From memory:

Mysqld --skip-grant-tables
Start MySqlFront, log in, modify user tables (create root)
Log out/in and set password.
