Embedding Windows Form Control to ASP .NET Security Problem

Hi,

I managed to create a Windows Form Control and put it on my ASP .NET page. I
have done the suggestion that is provided by modifying the security settings.
From the stack trace, I would assume that the code throws exception when it
is trying to retrieve the processes list that has certain name. Below is the
code that I use to retrieve the processes.

Process[] processes = Process.GetProc essesByName("xx xx");

The above code is the first line within the method IsProcessRunnin g() which
is the top on the stack trace.

Could anyone help me on this?

Below is the error that I get:

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

It sounds to me like your security setting changes didn't do the trick.
What security settings did you change exactly?

Hi Steve,

I created a new Permission set that has unrestricted access on all resources
(DNS, Event Log, File IO etc) on Machine Level. After that I created a new
child code group (still at Machine Level) under LocalIntranet_Z one that has
this permission set. After that I called my application through
http://localhost/ActiveXAspTester. Hope that helps.

Regards,
Budhi

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just in time (JIT) debugging, the config file for this
application or machine (machine.config ) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows. forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuratio n>
<system.windows .forms jitDebugging="t rue" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the machine
rather than being handled by this dialog.

Budhi

With some googling I have found these resources: http://docs.python.org/ext/win-dlls.html http://www.python.org/doc/faq/windows.html I have a large Win32/MFC/C/C++ application that has an embedded scripting language (a very limited one). I would like to rip it out and replace it with Python. I am thinking that this would be relatively simple since the scripting language is a very small interface between the UI and the engine --...

Dear all, I built a Web Form application to start and stop a Windows Service remotely. I successful tested the application on Windows 2000 server + IIS. I must include the ASPNET user to the Administration group (on server side) to have the necessary authorization to start a Windows Service (I don't understand why "Power User" rights are not enough to do the same thing) Although I'm able to start a service using windows 2000 server...

I would like to embed a windows controls or smart client controls in a web page, in a similar way to which a java applet or a flash applet or an active x control is embedded. I read something somewhere about compiling the control to a dll, and then putting this dll in the web server directory, and setting the classid to the url to this. Is there a way of doing this all automatically as part of one project, or one solution? Also, is...

Hi, I have the following problem: I have a .CFM web page and I have to populate, from VB, two textboxes on it. I was thinking using sendkeys (even if I don't like it too much) but when I open the web browser and navigate to the selected page, I cannot set the focus to the html part of the control (only the web control takes the focus) so I can't use sendkeys to populate the fields I need.

Hi, I still have the same problem with embedding Windows Control. I'll just requote what I posted last time: I managed to create a Windows Form Control and put it on my ASP .NET page. I have done the suggestion that is provided by modifying the security settings. From the stack trace, I would assume that the code throws exception when it

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
