I want to use the Crystal Report to display and allow the clients to create
the .rpt files in the browser at runtime and allow them to drill down and use
cross-tabs.
To check out the possibilities I have downloaded the evaluation versions of
Crystal Report 10 (CR10AdvDevEn.exe) and CE 10 (CE10EN.exe from
http://www.businessobjects.com/products/reporting/crystalenterprise/eval/datasave.asp?activity_type_id=673).
To acheive this purpose I...

I have a transaction log file where the DataSet table's Description column
is actually delimited into "subcolumns" based upon the transaction id. I
would like to parse these into separate fields for reporting purposes and am
wondering if anyone knows if this is easily accomplished using the .NET
version of Crystal Reports?
For example, the description column may be reporting on a dataentry error as
follows:
TXNCODE: 1010001

Greetings all,
I'm hoping someone can recommend a web-based reporting software. My
database is currently in MS Access, but could be ported to SQL Server
if necessary. Would prefer a broswer independent tool with no plug-in
requirements. Would also prefer it to be compatible with existing ASP
code (rather than ASP.NET). We don't need on-the-fly query creation,
but do want pre-formated quality layouts including headers, footers
and...

Hi all!
I would like to have your opinion about my problem and my proposal how
to solve it:
Ingredients:
- BTriev database
- Crystal Reports
- maybe MS Access
- Liinos6 (small ERP software)

My organization is in the midst of making a reporting tool decision. On the
table are Crystal and the reporting functionality in Access.
- Report distribution is not a factor - it's all local
- Training time is a factor since we have to create a boatload of reports in
a short time
- The ability for users to modify report formats and data content is
required
- Cost is a factor - no one wants to spend too much money

Hi,
I will be taking on a new project developing a web-based "reporting system".
The first requirement I got from BI group is "we just want to look at the
data". Basically, there is a huge database, and they want certain people to
be able to drill down to the data they want, perhaps a few graphs here and
there, and then extract selected data to an Excel file or a flat file for
further analysis. As of now there are a handful of parameters...

Sorry if posting this to the wrong group, but do you know of any asp.net
hosting vendor with support for Crytal Reports? Apparently they do not exist
due to high licensing costs at $25k per cpu.
Certainly someone must be offering this?
Thanks.

We are evaluating the prospect of integrating and/or using Crystal
Reports with some of our current products. Some of these are still in
Access 97 and are running well. Since we cannot include the report
wizard in a runtime environment, we are looking at ad hoc report
writers like Crystal.
Can we include Crystal with our runtimes and/or is there another
report writer that we should be looking at? Any and all help is
greatly appreciated.

I am currently using ASP.Net 2003 and will be upgrading to 2005
sometime in the near future. I have been having issues with using
Crystal Reports that were included with .Net to handle my reporting
needs. I was wondering if anybody has an opinion on how the new
reportViewer control works in comparison to Crystal. One of the main
problems I have been having with Crystal Reports is that they seem to
load very slow no matter how small the...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
