asp.net hosting with support for Crystal Reports

Jay
Sorry if posting this to the wrong group, but do you know of any asp.net
hosting vendor with support for Crytal Reports? Apparently they do not exist
due to high licensing costs at $25k per cpu.
Certainly someone must be offering this?
Thanks.

Not sure I understand Jay? You can use Crystal Reports that comes with VS
2005 for web reporting without requiring licenses? Only if you want to
design reports via web will you need the 25K per CPU. You can also use
ClickOnce (if you can require end users to have Windows OS) and go with a
Windows based app that will run in online or offline mode using Crystal
Reports. Many of my apps are migrating to ClickOnce as our users are 95%
windows and their just isn't enough revenue in the 5% mac/linux (aka non
Windows clients) to justify the expense to keep them happy with full ASP.NET
based web server app.

Just something to think about.

Thanks Rob.
My web app is an asp.net application service that is integrated with other
vendor accounting software packages that act as clients posting xml over http
to my app. My app then sends the reports back to the client as html in a
browser. I must use a report tool that creates html with very specific
layout for government tax forms. Unfortunately I developed them in Crystal,
then was blown out of the water when my (untimely) research found that
asp.net hosting sites do not support Crystal.
I am trying desperately to avoid re-writing the reports into sql server
reports (which are supported by asp.net hosting vendors).
If someone could point me to a hosting vendor with Crystal support it would
be much appreciated.

You could use http://www.rentavm.com/ ... and set up your own virtual
server with crystal reports on it.

If I did my own server I would be stuck for the $25,000 per cpu. My
objective was to fund a website hosting service to avoid this.
I guess the answer to my original question is, there are not any ISP that
support asp.net and Crystal Reports.
Hope someone proves this to be wrong.
Thanks

I have a VB.NET 2003 application which is using the built-in Crystal Reports control for viewing an .RPT file. The .RPT files reside on the server, and the data pulled by these reports is in a SQL Server database. On any client PC, I can create an ODBC connection to the SQL Server database - and the DSN name for this connection is what I reference in code when setting up a user-selected report for viewing. I have created a deployment...

I know this may not be the best NG for this, but I feel you guys know more about this than any of the other NGs. I need to build several simple reports (over 50 of them and they get their data from sql server) and I was wondering whish of these is the better tool .. We're still not sure if they'll be loaded from an existing VB6 application or if I'll have to make a separate module for them (in .Net). In general, which is the better tool?...

Hi, Just wondering what a good book is on visual studios 2008 ( or 2005 if no 2008 ) that teaches you how to properly use crystal reports with it. Or im assuming that as long as I can create a dataset and link it to a reportviewer than any Crystal Report book will do. I use vb.net but im assuming most books would show you vb and c

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
