i have a problem with Mac browsers. As can be seen from the following HTML
fragment i have some images that should, when clicked, open up a <div>. This
works fine on all window's browsers (that i've been able to test) but is

I have developed a website for a friend who uses the AOL Browser.
The site works fine on Internet Explorer but as soon as he browses it
via the AOL browser version 9.0 the line:
var timer=setTimeout("parent.main.changeLinks('"+typeVar+"')", 500);
seems to fail.

concerned about what problems I may have with potential users having
their js turned off. Has anyone had any serious problems with this
sort of thing? I know some of these potential users are with big

I posted about this a few days ago, and I got a few suggestions that
fixed part of my problem.
I am using a PHP script to switch external style sheets when the viewer

I have read about the problems that IE has when using a doctype of HTML
4.01 Transitional. I was advised to use Strict wherever possible.
My question is, does the same apply to XHTML 1.0 Transitional? I develop
sites using ASP.NET, which emits valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional, but not
XHTML 1.0 Strict (for example, it includes a hidden form field with the
name of _VIEWSTATE, which isn't valid in Strict, but is in
Transitional).

I am having lots of cross-resolution (and also cross-browser) problems.
I would like to know what is the most recommended solution for this
type of issue:
* Should I use different CSS for different resolutions? I don't like
this solution because than I will have to maintain 2 large CSS files.

I'm trying to find a cross browser solution for editing text in a flickr photo caption manor where the text is displayed in a <div> or <a> tag but changes to a <textarea> via JS when clicked.

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
