Hi everyone
I am getting the above problem when I am trying to use AJAX on my
Visual Studio 2005 solution - I seem to keep getting it when I click
the back button in my browser. (And, the controls that are wired to
the AJAX lose their value despite being in the ViewState).
I am using the latest version that I downloaded from ajax.asp.net a
couple of days ago.

Hi,
In one of my pages, I use javascript (AJAX) to populate one mulitple
select field based on user's click event on another control. I noticed
that when I navigate back to this page by clicking browser's "Back"
button, the changes made to the multiple select is not preserved. (It
shows the initial value). While all the other user selections are
preserved.
Firefox seems fine.
How do I workaround this issue for IE?

Hi,
I need a code to control the function of the back button on browsers. Specifically, I need the back button to ignore the browswe history and go back to my index.html each time the user hits it, even though the history has registered another link within my webpage.
Does anyone know how to do that?

I know this is an old one, considering how many posts I found on it but I
just wondered if any best practises had popped up recently, especially as
Ajax has increased JavaScript and DHTML's importance.
I'm writing a database application. I like pop-up boxes so I've implemented
one on my webpage using a floating DIV. The logic goes like this:
1. When the page is rendered (on the server), it adds "var DisplayPopup =
false;" in the page...

I have an Ajax application and I want to take control of the back button. I have implemented a Javascript, but it runs correctly only on Firefox. In IE7 I got some problems.
My script runs as follow:
- when I click from a tab to another of the same page I update the sub-content via Ajax and I change my url adding hash parameters (using window.location.hash).
- when I get an url with hash parameters I parse it and I send the correct...

When using Ajax, the back button doesn't work correctly anymore. It moves
back to the previous page - not the previous state before the Ajax was done.
Any solutions for this?
TIA - J.

Good Morning,
I am working on a page that uses ajax to display a list of products after a search. The content is displayed in 10 divs created in the DOM. If the search returns more than 10 results. I put the next 10 products into the same DIVS. In other words the user never leaves the page. The problem arises when they use the back button to look at the previous 10 products it takes them clean off the page. In a perfect world we would...

I recently moved to ASPnet Ext 3.5
What I can't get with Ajax and History browser managemet is this:
User fills some fields (dropdown and textbox) on page 1 (all are in an
update panel)
User clicks Submit Button
I write the data into a DB
I add a history point with ScriptManager to be able to get back to this
point with browser back button
Page 2 is loaded with a response.redirect() command

I have a fairly complex form (generated by means of an ASP 3 page).
The form is used to define a query against a database. After running a
query, the user hits their browser's back button and goes back to the
form, where their selections show up. They can change whatever they
want to change and resubmit the new query. Mostly, everything works
fine, with radio buttons, selection lists, check boxes all coming back
in the state they were in...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
