Running remote script after page loads

R
Hi,

I have an image loaded on my page that comes from a remote site using
JavaScript

I'm using...

<script src='http://www.whatever.co m/JD088?template= GX5'></script>

The image loads fine but my page seems to wait for this image to load before
loading the rest of the page.

Is there anyway I can run this script after my page loads.

Cheers,

-R

You could try placing it at the bottom of the page ?

I have a script that connects to a remote db to display the content I need. The connection worked great when it resided on a windows box. I recently moved the page to a linux box. And now when it tries to connect to the DB the pages just hangs (no error). When I comment out the connect script, it loads the page (without the data). Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Is there a way to limit both width and height of a canvas text item? My current workaround seems clumsy: import Tkinter as tk root = tk.Tk() canvas = tk.Canvas(root, width=400, height=200, bg="white") canvas.pack() # simulate a clipped text item - never transparent :-( s = "The long and winding road.."

I need to be able to conditionally load a remote script, using the "<script src=..." syntax. Or some other way. I've seen people writing about using the document.write method, but it's not working like I want it to. What's happening is, if I do a document.write(scriptcall), the script loads, although sometimes very slowly... (?). Any inline code is executed (I used an alert to verify that the script is loading). But all the previous...

Right...have loads of C++, SQLServer experience but about 5 minutes of JavaScript, ASP etc. Spent a frustrating 2 days deciding the best way to get some data from a SQL database, then cached in the browser so it could be used by a number of pages without repeated database querying. No idea which is the most current v obsolete technology. Remote scripting seemed feasible but is this on the way out. Tried implementing it but got some...

I have an ASP.NET web page accessing a SQL database. I've used VS to build the app and stored it in the eNPTest02 directory of my localhost on my development machine. The database is on the web. I've found a way that works on the web, and I'm trying to get it to also work in debug mode in the IDE. The "on the web" page and my SQL database are hosted by a third party (on separate servers). Since debug mode opens IE and loads my page...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
