writing multiple values to a cookie

3 New Member
I want to save links to a cookie. So far I can save one link by:

var value=document. getElementById( "link1").hr ef;
document.cookie =cookiename + "=" + escape(value);

If I want to save several links, do I have to create one cookie per link or can I save them all in the same cookie? If I can use only one cookie, how do I read the values from it?

Thanks in advance!

you can write to your cookie using a dilimeter such as | or ;

Example:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. <script>
  2. var b = "www.google.com|www.yahoo.com|www.thescripts.com";
  3. b = b.split("|");
  4. for (i=0; i<=b.length; i++) {
  5. alert(b[i]);
  6. }
  7. </script>
  8.

Here is how I imagine my process: I have an series of interactive HTML forms. The user begins a Cookie session. A database connection is opened and a transaction is begun. I can add a cookie fine, but I can't seem to figure out how to change the value of a cookie and save it back. My code looks like: if (passwordSaveCookie.checked) then If Request.Cookies("User") is nothing Then Dim cookie As New HttpCookie("User") cookie.Values.Add("UserName",UserName.Text) cookie.Values.Add("UserFirstName",dbReader("FirstName"))

Hello, Does anyone know how I can Write a Cookie and then later retrieve it...? Also, Is it possible to write attributes and corresponding values to the cookie file.Needless to say would require this in .Net (VB.Net or C#)... A sample code or an article on how to accomplish this would be very much appreciated... Thanks,

Hi, Is there anyway to store multiple values in the System.Net.Cookie object?? I cannot use the System.Web.HttpCookie object (which allows for multiple values) as I am trying to set the SoapHttpClientProtocol.CookieContainer property which only accepts System.Net.Cookie as a parameter.

I am coding a http proxy in c# and using httpwebrequest class to send request to the web server, when the server returns multiple set-cookie headers then the httpwebresponse object combines them all in to a single set-cookie key-value pair. I am tryin to get the value of the headers in the following way. for (int i = 0; i < response.Headers.Count; ++i) Console.WriteLine("{0}:{1}", response.Headers.Keys, response.Headers);

I have to send multiple set-cookie headers in a single response when queried for a particular request and i havent been able to find a way to do that. I tried the cookie class and httpweblistenerresponse.addcookie() method but it still sends only a single set-cookie header. Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
