I'm working on a web app, LAMP project that mostly run's quickly, with
the exception of some JS popup windows. They are opening very slowly,
is there anything I can do ?

Do you *really* need popup windows ?
My Fx is always lazy to open a new window.

Try at least to re-use same popup window
(instead to close previous before to open a new one)
Following question is : what is displayed in this popup ?
(specially : advertising, stats from other domain, xiti ...)

Show the source code related to the window.open() calls so that it can be
analyzed here.

Hi, I reported this to Microsoft over a year ago, but so far have not seen anything in the KB. Has anyone experienced slow logoff after installing Visual Studio.NET 2002 or 2003 on Win2000? If so, it's almost certainly caused by the "Machine Debug Manager" service holding a registry key open. Not only will it cause slow log off, but could also prevent settings being saved to the user profile.

Open source programs in general suck pretty bad also. Here are some loose facts regarding why projects like Linux, PHP, MYSQL, and other open source programs suck: - Linux is simply a clone of an operating system over 20 years old similar to DOS (Unix). That's ALL Linux is. The kernal was taken, decompiled, and stolen by Linus himself. That's a fact. Xerox should have sued, but at the during the early 1991, no one was really using Unix...

Okay, here is what's happening: I have a reasonably fast laptop (1.4 GHz Mobile M, so comparable to 2.5GHz P4) doing .net development. Running Windows XP pro, SP2 IIS is installed and running fine All SQL Servers I am referring to share a small (10 computers or so) LAN with a 100MB Switch. No other computers on the LAN exhibit this problem.

I have an application that has a main.aspx page (something like a todo list). Clicking one of the items open an new window (javascript window.open) with a new aspx page. this is extremely slow. if I type the same (slow) aspx page in the address bar of the browser it appears immediately. This makes me believe that window.open together with aspx is very slow - but I don't know why and don't see the reason. Opening a html page with...

Hello, I am having a huge problem with one of our PC's on the network. When this PC is connected to the network, it is very slow to open or create a new file or folder. It doesn't matter if you are going through the toolbar and clicking File, Open (or new) or whether you right click on the desktop and click "new" - the PC will hang the second the mouse touches the option before it is even clicked. It will hang for 25-30 seconds or longer,...

This is a new problem for me: I have some queries that open very slowly in design view. My benchmark query takes about 20 minutes to open in design view. That same query takes about 20 minutes to open in datasheet view. As an experiment, I deleted all rows in all tables; after that, the query took only seconds to open in both design view and datasheet view. From these facts, I conclude that Access is evaluating the query when I go to...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
