JavaMail API msg.setSentDate (new Date()) creates wrong Time Zone

I am using the JavaMail API to send email.

It seems the Message.setSent Date(new Date()) sets wrong time zone.

I am at GMT+1, and this is also what the new Date() is showing.

But when the message arrives the header is showing it as GMT+2.
It is always showing one time zone higher also if I change my time zone to
something else in windows.

Any clues why? Daylight savings time fools the API perhaps?

No biggie, but it is annoying.

( I am using JavaMail 1.4 and are running XP PRO ).

TIA,

Jonatan

Let's say you provide an online service from 7:00AM to 6:00PM Eastern Time (daylight time in the summer). Is there way of showing these hours of availability on a web page in the user's local time? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi all, I have a utility that uses the C library function strftime() to return the time zone name, but it returns "GMT Standard Time" on one computer, and "BST" (which it should be at the moment) on the other computer. Both PCs are Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2. Both have their time zone set to GMT +0 (London). And in the Date & Time control panel applet, both show "GMT Standard Time" as the Current time zone. Both have the correct...

There is a function: http://paste.ubuntu.com/21865 It needs GMT date in YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS format - in SQL: datetime. If date is the same as today, the function returns "Today". There is one problem. This function does not recognize time zones. How to adjust date to user's time zone? Is converting to timestamp() and then to format readable to visitors the one and only solution (e.g. strtotime() + date() OR DateTime object)? Perhaps,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
