Hello all,
I am hoping someone out there will be able to help me. I am trying to install
a program that utilizes NumPy. In installing NumPy, I realized that I was
lacking Atlas. I ran into the following problems installing Atlas and NumPy,
as I realized that NumPy could be installed using the Mac OSX veclib already
built in. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix either of these, I would be
most grateful.

TimeZone - the only instance you can get is one representing the local time
zone
DateTime - cannot represent a time before 00:00:00 1 Jan 1 CE
What were they thinking? This is a serious question - can anyone come up
with a good reason for these incredible design restrictions?

serialize a class to a file, either binary or XML, but this is not what I am

I have some datetime values in SQL server stored in Eastern time zone.
I need to convert them to GMT.
The pc that I will be running the app has local time zone set to eastern
time.
Is this code enough for the translation to GMT?
DateTime easternDateEime = value from the db;
easternDateEime.ToUniversalTime();
Do I need to worry about daylight savings?

I have to connect to a server set up by the government, where they used
Apache Axis to create a webservice.
The code I use to interface to the webservice is generated by wsdl.exe,
based on a .wsdl file they sent me.
Now a problem turns up with a date field they implemented as xsd:dateTime,

We have a c# application (with about 100 forms, and 300+ tables on sql
server).
We have several customers who use that application but everybody gets
the copy of the database. Structure of the database is same, but with
different data. All the databases reside on the same server/same
instance.
We need to make that app time-zone aware. Is there a way in SQL
Server 2000 database (or web.config file) to change the time zone?

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
