why do I keep getting scroll bars on frames even though I have scrolling
set to "no"?? (am on IE..) I mean even if you put an img in there or
sthg that's a bit larger than the frame if you set scrolling to NO
shouldn't it sitll appear w/no scroll bars?? thank you..

just looked in my book, it says explictly that if you set scrolling to
NO scroll bars never appear even if contents of frame are larger than
frame... this is very annoying, am working w/complex frameset, can't
test it right w/the scroll showing up.. thank you.. Frances

And how do you think people here could help you discover the
reason? Or are you only posting to get it off your chest?

Well, I'm sorry too, there's two answers for you then:
1. Don't use frames. You are talking 'complex frameset'.
Sounds like you're using frames to get a table-layout.
2. Without your code, no one can even start to guess what
you're doing wrong. (apart from using frames of course ;-) )

Could you bottom-post your replies and trim a bit, please? Thanks.

where I work they support Netscape 4.7, we use frames a lot, but
framesets that look fine in IE look awful in N 4.7, can someone shed
some light on what the deal is w/frames in N 4.7? in N 4.7 frames are
different sizes from what they're supposed to be, etc.. thank you very
much..

Hi,
I have a HTML page consisting of two frames, one visible and one
hidden. The hidden frame contains javascript variables holding session
information. The visible frame contains interactive content.
From the visible frame I open a new window. This new window is created
using javascript. The new window consists of two frames, both visible.
During the creation of the new window a form is generated within one
of the frames and...

I tried finding an answer on http://www.quirksmode.org/ without success.
I am attempting a complicated Frames structure. I have made it work in IE,
but not Netscape.
I begin with three frames, where the two lower ones are within a Frameset
within the master Frameset:

Of course, every frame site I've ever seen has reduced usability and all.
We've been through this before.
But as frameset is still a part of HTML, there must be some legitimate use
for it, hmm? For most markup I know when it's useful and when it's not,
but regarding table markup I sure know when it isn't good, but can't
really come up with a way it would be good.
As you all are among the sharpest pencils in the bag, let me ask: Do you...

This problem has consumed a lot of my time, and I'm aftraid someone
will tell me that my whole approach to this objective is wrong;
however, I would like to know if there is a way to do this.
I have a web page divided into two major segments, with the top segment
fixed and the bottom segment allowed to scroll, thus giving the look of
frames without frames.
I also have anchors so that users can click on a letter of the alphabet
to jump...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
