I'm sorry if I have offend anyone.

I was just trying to cover as many bases as possible. It is very hard to
find people, willing to share their knowledge of this industry.. even with
students studying this area of expertise.

Please don't post upside down.

If you're going to ask questions on Usenet, you will offend people
if you just blunder in, ignoring established conventions. Some short
excerpts of established conventions, with links to longer ones, can
be found in my "Playing Nice on Usenet" at

If you have questions, feel free to post them. Be aware that we will
discuss them and might not have the answers you seek, but if they're good
questions you'll likely get a few good answers.

I've been programming in assembler and C/C++ for a number of years, but I'm only just starting down the road of PHP & MYSQL. I have a couple of questions: (1) Before I start writing my own code, to learn from, and also avoid re-inventing the wheel, does anyone know of any existing source that implements a (basic or complex) play-by-email system using PHP and maybe MYSQL?

My client wants to make their Access 2007 database available to offices around the country with multi-user permissions set to control access to the tables and forms, etc. The easiest thing would be a client/server app, but they are concerned that accessing the backend on their VPN would be too slow. We've discussed the possibility of publishing the forms to the intranet with ASP, but I'm concerned that web development with Access is a...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
